To all my family, friends, and followers,
This is not easy for me to share. Over the past 8 months, I’ve been battling a medical condition that has unfortunately returned. I was able to get some relief back in January with a steroid injection, but in early April, the pain slowly started to come back—and since then, it has only gotten worse.
Many of you may have heard of tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis). This is something that has developed over time from the repetitive motion of baking, especially using my right hand and arm.
I want to be clear—I am not ready to give up baking. It’s something I truly love. But I’ve come to the difficult realization that I need to take a step back and allow my body the time it needs to heal.
I will still be finishing the markets and orders I have scheduled through the end of May and early June. After that, I will be taking a break for the summer to focus on recovery.
That said, I won’t disappear completely. When I’m able, I’ll have a few small porch pop-ups here and there. Baking brings me joy, and for my mental well-being, I know I’ll need those small moments to keep my passion alive.
I don’t want to lose the momentum, the rhythm, or the love I’ve built with D’s Sweets. This is just a pause—not an ending. D’s Sweets is not closing.
