A little flashback to photoshoot day for the @kirei.design.materials Tesselate Pendant. Even after 27 years as a professional designer it never ceases to be a joy to get to bring products to life with talented teams of engineers, prototypers, product managers, marketers, and photographers. This was my first collection of lighting and I’m excited that it will be on display at @neocon_shows as part of the @carnegiefabrics installation in the @metropolismag Sustainability Lab. Going to be at the show? Send me a DM and maybe we can connect.

How It Comes Together 💡✨
From concept to creation, every detail is designed with purpose. Materials are carefully selected, forms are thoughtfully engineered, and light and acoustics are integrated into one seamless system. It all comes together to support better sound, better light, and a more intentional experience within the space.

Saturday morning coffee when the rhododendrons are in full bloom. I can’t believe I’m going to be 50 in a few weeks. At least @enzo_ditullo thought I was saying something interesting. ☺️
Sketch of the day. An automotive bench seat exploration that has been kicking around in my sketchbook for a bit. Kind of like if an atomic modern living room felt like a hug. ☺️

Flashback, 2004 Nike Metro Laser Pack. I had just designed the Nike City Knife 3 (left) & Barrette (right) as the advanced team worked out that they could laser etch into materials. I took some inspiration from Art Nouveau posters it was applied to the two shoes and the iconic Nike Rift (center)

Why Lighting? 💡✨
It just made sense. We expanded into lighting to give designers more freedom to shape how a space looks, feels, and sounds—all in one move. By integrating light with acoustics, you can create environments that are more intentional, functional, and impactful.

An old doodle from 2018. I always thought there might be something to this one. I need to develop it further.
