âYou Can Do It!â 2026 28 x 35.4cm, Acrylic on Wood
Painting this then looking at it just made me feel so mellow. Feeling occasionally mellow and motivated is necessary if you wanna keep your head above the water, be there for others and be there for yourself. Donât let nihilism get ya.
Sometimes my titles are me talking to you, or myself, whoeverâs spectating :p You can do it!
'New Containers' is up in the Marylebone space for the rest of this week, closing on Saturday 24 January.
Dio Dunbar, Untitled lamp, 2024. Acrylic and gilding paint on paper mache, lamp pendant and muslin, 23 x 24.5 x 18 cm.
Dio Dunbar is a Caribbean-British figurative painter born and working in London. Upon completing a foundation year at UAL Camberwell in Illustration, his practice developed into a visual study of youth culture and worldbuilding. Inspired by ancient artefacts, immersive videogame narratives and his own Black-British culture, Dio Dunbar continues to work on a variety of surfaces, both crafted and found, to comment on hardship, unity and self-determination.
And we are back for another 365 hopefully.
