okay annoyingly long self reflection paragraph incoming — i still cannot believe that the past 3 years were real. i'm bout to get real deep and personal with this, but genuinely speaking; i wouldn't be alive if i hadn't regained my passion for fashion and arts.
I don't really talk about this publicly except to my close friends, but here I am anyway. When I was 15, I was diagnosed with depression and PTSD from a past abusive-toxic relationship and was s*icidal — constantly bedrotting and not doing anything. I really thought that my life was going to end there and then until one random day in November 2020 I decided to pick up a needle and thread to sew my first ever project: A doll bag. Hence the reason behind my username.
My passion and drive to keep on sewing started from there. It was the only thing keeping me alive, and finding out that I could apply to @tp.des.fmd via EAE drove me to work hard on my portfolio and grind on my O levels so that I could secure a spot. And I did!
3 years later, I am here today holding my Diploma in Apparel Design & Merchandising with Merit. Jokes aside from the help of ManaDR on my sick days🤣 I could have never been here today if it wasn't for the moral support from my friends who were there to offer me a hug, a shoulder for me to cry on every crashout, to stay up with me on call silently designing and sewing, ice cream/cup noodle trips to Octobox, and staying back in the sewing room singing Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj songs until the security guard chased us all out lol.. I hope these memories stay with you too. I will really, really miss them.
