David Kayode brings the Ade Kayode project to Leeds Jazz Festival for a special performance at Brudenell Social Club.
Blending Afro-diasporic rhythm, contemporary jazz and deep groove-led improvisation into an immersive live experience.
Rooted in Yoruba musical traditions and shaped by London’s evolving jazz scene, the music moves between spiritual intensity, collective celebration and raw improvisation.
Featuring a powerful ensemble of leading musicians from across the UK scene, this is music designed equally for deep listening and movement.
Following performances across the UK and collaborations spanning jazz, Afro-fusion and contemporary music culture, David Kayode’s live shows have become known for their energy, emotional depth and sense of community.
Expect hypnotic rhythms, soaring improvisation and a night of music that feels both ancient and forward-looking.
After the encore request somehow turned into Iko Iko… and then into Jingle Bells 😭🎄
Still taking in how special last Monday was. Thank you to everybody who came down to the Ade Kayode album launch and shared that energy with us. The love in the room genuinely means a lot.
Big love to every musician, listener, dancer, friend, and stranger who helped make it what it was ❤️

Happy to announce David Kayode will be headlining our June gig. As you know JOY by Cengiz was one of our favourite tracks last year and it featured David on sax. Getting him to play for us was the next step and we’re stoked to the max. Fraka and Virginia on the bill adds up to another lip smacking line-up. More info to follow. #livemusic #livejazz #hackneynights

Launching my EP Ade Kayode, blending Yoruba tradition, carnival energy and contemporary jazz into a distinctly London sound that moves bodies and evokes ancestral stories.
Bringing it live and direct to the Lower Third, London on Monday 4th May.
“Some vibrant sounds from an emerging artist I’ve really enjoyed hearing from Tomorrow’s Warriors. Tenor saxophonist David Kayode is developing a really distinctive sound infused with Afrobeat and straight ahead.” Soweto Kinch, ‘Round Midnight, BBC Radio3
