I told myself I wasn’t paying for school. In starting undergrad, God tested that faith. I didn’t find out I had a full ride until right before the semester started. And here I was again. I feel like God has a way of making me wait until the very last minute, just to see if my faith in Him has limits.
‘Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.’ – Hebrews 11:1 ✨
I’ve been praying about law school starting college. But this year I applied late in February which brought its own troubles. I was accepted to schools and waitlisted at others, but the scholarships weren’t enough. I wasn’t settling because I prayed specifically for a full ride.
Even after getting off the waitlist, I paid a deposit and deferred my spot at another school, preparing for a gap year. But God opened a door that had already closed. Just by having the faith to email and ask, ‘What is this fellowship about?’ even though the deadline had passed two months ago and interviews were already finished…God opened the door, and they gave me the chance to apply. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take right.
Still, I told myself I’d wait if I had to. But one Wednesday at 3pm, right after fasting and praying, I checked my phone and saw: “Congratulations, you’ve been selected as the finalist.”
God blessed me in triple:
1️⃣ Acceptance off the waitlist
2️⃣ A full ride scholarship (free law school 🙌🏾)
3️⃣ Summer stipends
My favorite prayer has always been for favor, and I truly believe God has favored me and will continue to favor me through every step of this journey. Every time I’ve trusted Him, He’s proven that faith in Him has no limits. 🙏🏾✨
