Nna ! It's your birthday today.
But there isn't anyone on that side to pick up the phone or read my message. We would have laughed a little, complained about the motherland a lot and hoped for a better future.
The assumption that there is a lot of time , that the time is ours and that we'd always see our loved ones when we return.
Words still fail me , but to not write is to not celebrate what an awesome human you were. The true definition of a perfect gentleman. Maybe next time we'd do this in another country and we'll give it our all. I hear Scotland is nice.

I flew a thousand miles to Missouri , I do these wonderful things when I am bored. They said I'd like it there . The office was downtown so I walked , sometimes I took the Lime scooter. They said the streets were rough , they said get an Uber. I said "It's fine" , you can't really explore a city from a cab . I am a Lasgidi boy , I worked in AJ city , I am cool with rough , the rough people looked like me and when they asked me for money when I didn't have, I just told them. Then they took me to lunch and just in that small restaurant , a brother walked in , he looked like me , only difference - he was strapping , 2 semis. Everybody froze for a few seconds and then tried too hard to make it seem all good . I left Missouri .
Yes I grew up in Lagos and I've seen guns and everytime I've seen a person with a gun I understood the situation. This one I didn't understand .
Now when I am bored I just sleep.
