"Unstable Grounds" explores the construction of atmospheres that seem to yield, expand, or fracture. Through reserves, washes, and chromatic tensions — employed independently by each artist — the pieces seek to suggest that which unsettles, framing the perception of environments whose stability remains uncertain. More than images, these are traces: surfaces where matter becomes unstable and space acquires an unsettling density. . . Exercise created in the Watercolor Workshop: Color and Atmosphere in Scenes of Mystery and Terror. This session included a visit from watercolor instructor @sakro_avenida , who produced one of the works featured in the exhibition. The Demon Collector – Part 3 of 3 (you can check the previous parts on my profile!) The creature was as absurd as it was terrifying: a mass of orange flesh shaped like a pumpkin, throbbing like a sick heart, supported by black, segmented legs sharp as steel needles. From its surface sprouted articulated limbs — dozens of them — stretching skyward with surgical precision. It was impossible to tell whether it was a creature, a machine, or something in between. The only thing evident was that it was another of those delirious experiments from that mad genius who loves to imitate life only to devour it. The demons tried to take flight, but the appendages reached them one by one — splitting, crushing, or absorbing them — as if the air itself were conspiring against them. The roar of wings blended with the mechanical growl of that abomination. I stood frozen, unable to run, realizing that what I was witnessing obeyed no known law. Then I saw him. Standing amid the fog, that strange being with the deformed hat was holding something that looked like a twisted remote control. He moved his fingers — if they could be called fingers — long, black, jointed, like those of an insect learning to imitate men. For a moment, the mist pulled away, and I saw his distorted, alien face — something that belonged neither to this world nor to any sane one. The sky, stained with a delirious red, feels like an open eye watching these monsters—beautiful and terrible—as they feast upon the flesh of my companions. But as the darkness cracked with wingbeats and laughter, I saw him appear: that strange, ominous figure that only vaguely resembles a man by the cut of his silhouette. And he wasn’t alone.
