There’s a village in the Diarizou Valley that most Cypriots have never visited or even heard of.
Trozena. A ghost village, abandoned for decades, slowly crumbling in one of Cyprus’s most beautiful valleys. Now it’s at the center of a national conversation about land, identity, and who gets to shape the future of places like this.
Approximately 70% of its buildings have reportedly been acquired by a foreign investor. Plans for restoration have been submitted. No permit has been approved. The debate is just beginning.
