Happy Friday, beautiful people! I hope November was good to you and that December is already bringing you joy. One of the highlights for me last month was visiting with two of my amazing friends on the podcast, My Two Cynts About the Good Stuff (head to the link in my bio to watch ❤️). Kathleen LaValle, CEO of Dallas CASA and WFAA’s Cynthia Izaguirre engaged in heartfelt, insightful, and impactful dialogue about foster care, adoption, permanence and stability for children. I recommend that you watch this episode in three parts. The two interviews and my family’s adoption story will warm your heart and hopefully change the lives of a few children. Thank you @dallascac @gladneycenter @jonathansplacetx @soulrebornofficial for making a difference. #GoodGoingViral #TheGoodStuff #MyTwoCyntsPodcast #AdoptionAwareness #FosterCareSupport

What an inspiring conversation with Cynt Marshall, whose career has redefined what inclusive leadership looks like at the highest levels. As the first Black woman to serve as CEO of an NBA team, she helped transform the culture at the Dallas Mavericks. Earlier in her career, as Senior Vice President of HR and Chief Diversity Officer at AT&T, her leadership played a key role in earning the company recognition on Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list. Now, through Marshalling Resources, she continues to help organizations lead with purpose, build inclusive cultures, and drive meaningful change. Grateful for the insights, candor, and inspiration she shared with our community. Look out for this talk on the #DeansSpeakerSeries podcast next week!

Happy Thursday, beautiful people! And happy 68th birthday to Kenny. I met the boy when he was 16 and married him when he was 25. Kenny is as crazy today as he was the day I met him. I am blessed to have a supportive husband and our children are blessed with a wonderful father. Many call him dad and uncle. There’s never a dull moment with this one. Kenny shows up and if you mess with me or the kids he will show out. 😉 I married a good man! We are celebrating life! 🎉💙 🙌🏾

“Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” (Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) For as long as I can remember, I’ve been surrounded by people who serve others in remarkable ways. My mother was the first person to show me how to care for people by giving of my time, talent, and a bit of treasure. She made it a priority for her children to experience the joy of serving. Last month, I had the privilege of recognizing my mother and her legacy of serving others. I want to thank @volunteernow for this amazing personal moment and for the service opportunities that you provide to so many people. And thanks to @dallascasa @4oakcliff and others for the privilege to serve.

Do y’all know when the Disney channel was launched in the United States? It was the same year that Michael Jackson became a global icon and solidified his status as the King of Pop. I thought about this magical year as I watched “Michael” on the big screen a few hours ago. The movie brought up many memories of the 1980s. So back to my question, Disney channel, MJ’s global ascension, and me becoming Mrs. Kenneth J. Marshall all occurred in 1983. April 30, 2026 is our 43rd wedding anniversary. “For better. For worse. For richer. For poorer. In sickness. In health.” That’s what we said. That’s what we meant. We’ve experienced it together for approximately 15,695 days. One day at a time, sweet Jesus! We are blessed. 💍❤️😘

Hello, beautiful people! I am still smiling while trying to catch up from a busy Women’s History Month. It was wilder than usual and so much fun! As I keynoted events, spoke on panels, and moderated conversations, one profound realization kept resurfacing. I often found myself talking about the real joy of a trailblazing journey, which is to leave fingerprints while making footprints. Being able to touch somebody and make their life better is what this journey is all about. It took me a while to finally accept that I’m a trailblazer. I’ve often been “the first” in many things, and I’ve taken on some big jobs that allowed me to be in places where I can do good things for other people. I’ve been in rooms where I called out someone’s name at just the right time and watched magic happen. My prayer every day is to touch people in a meaningful way while I’m on this journey. What good is it to blaze trails and just leave footprints as evidence of the journey? I’d much rather leave fingerprints of support on others who may be treading on unpaved or rough paths. Now don’t get me wrong; footprints are important. I’m all about going where no woman has gone before and bringing others along the way. There’s so much pleasure in seeing others take the second and third steps into the footprint and create their own. Footprints are good. Fingerprints are great. There is unspeakable joy in touching lives positively. Is someone’s life better because you touched them? I hope the month of April is finding you leaving fingerprints while making footprints.

BREAKING NEWS: THE TOMB IS EMPTY! “And he said unto them, Be not afraid. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified. He is risen. He is not here. Behold the place where they laid him.” (Mark 16:6) He got up, y’all, with ALL power in His hands. May you feel joy and peace on this Easter Sunday. 🙌🏾 ❤️
