Spent 4 sessions with Aspire Learning Center students and staff introducing them to Upcycling, or creative reuse, the process of transforming waste or unwanted stuff into new products of higher quality, utility, or environmental value. In these workshops, we made earrings out of old bicycle parts (inner tubes and chain links). Just another Cycle Killer thing. @aspireafterschool

Meet Topaz and Henry!
♻️ Topaz M. Terry is an Upcycling Specialist and Sewing Educator focused on reclaimed and salvaged materials. She operates the @AmendAdaptDC Sewing Studio on the Brookland Arts Walk in Northeast DC and manufactures the @BicycleTrashDC brand of products.
♻️ Henry Dunbar is an Arlington-based maker who has been upcycling art and wearable pieces from used bike parts for more than 10 years. He works part-time with Topaz and launched his own business, @CycleKillerVA .
