About yesterday... . A wee trip to Inverness for the weekend. Joined by a couple of friends to cycle the journey with me. A fantastic day out! . A really nice start to the morning when we set off at half 5 to meet up at Edinburgh Castle. We enjoyed great weather to Perth where some nice bacon rolls hit the spot. Then another 20 or so nice miles, before the rain and wind kicked in. Probably about 60 miles of that which was very challenging, with a welcome stop for lunch in Dalwhinnie. . My friend from Inverness had the idea to ride from Inverness castle to Edinburgh castle, so yesterday morning we set off and made the journey through our beautiful country. It was the best! . Although the weather forecast was favourable, we hit a poor spell between miles 40 to 100. Turning up for lunch dripping wet made us feel quite bad for the restaurant staff. It was the worst! . Several tough climbs along the way, the worst of which probably the climb up to Glenfarg after 125 miles. A fantastic sense of achievement to roll up to Edinburgh castle after 170 miles riding. It was the age of wisdom! . All in all this will definitely be a day to remember.
