Seventeen years later, I returned once again to my hometown — Beichuan
While paying respects to my grandfather and aunt, I finally completed this sound-image documentary work.
I have always believed that "truth carries immeasurable power." During just few days of interviews with surviving family members, I realized that all the planned artistic expressions felt fragile. In their direct and unembellished narratives lay countless forms of strength.
Even though time has frozen the old county in that moment, and my childhood memories feel distant and blurry, seeing the unknown little yellow flowers blooming among the ruins, and the large green leaves beyond a doorframe, everything felt alive and tender again. It was as if my memories had been re-fixed, pulled back to those summer afternoons of my childhood when I sought shade.

But I believe, for me and my family, what remains after such a heavy history is filtered by time is something clear, enduring, and eternal: love and remembrance
17年以后，我又一次回到了老家——北川县城。
祭奠爷爷和舅妈的同时，我也终于完成了这样一个声音影像的纪录片作品。
一直相信，“真实自有万钧之力”。在短短几天天对幸存家人的采访中，我才发现所有预想好的所谓的艺术表现方式，都显得如此薄弱。他们平凡的字词间中早已蕴含了千万种力量。
即使时间已经把原来的老县城定格在那一刻了，即使我对小时候的记忆如此模糊又遥远，但看到那些在废墟中开出来的不知名的小黄花，门框后的大片绿叶的时候，一切都是如此鲜活又柔软，好像我的记忆也重新被定格，拉回在了小时候炎热夏季乘凉的下午。
17年，时间的确如同被拉面师傅抻长了一般，但我想，对我，对我的家人，在这一切难以忘却厚重的历史中，被时间过滤溶解留下来是那些清澈，绵延不断，永恒的爱与怀念。
