I recently finished up another sketchbook that I’d been drawing in for a little over a year. I usually use these for more intimate, personal moments with friends and family. It’s a joy to have filled the sketchbook, but I’m mostly just proud of myself for not losing it. Ha!
I barely made it for the performance after rushing over from my hostel. The nice woman in the box office helped me find a seat with a good view. Then I hear a bell. The show must be starting soon. Then another bell. I sneak up 3 floors to me seat. The music starts almost as soon as I sit down. I start drawing immediately. It’s a tough scene. People, scale shifts, architecture, perspective. I know it’s gonna be funky, but I’m excited. To make the drawing you’re seeing took about an hour and a half. And in some weird act of fate, drawing it took the exact length of the performance. I drew when it started and finished precisely when the music finished. It was wild, and I’m honored to be aligned with the universe like that.
I loved drawing here. @palaumusicacat is one of the most beautiful venues I’ve ever been in.
