Weeks posts
It's been a year since I started this account. And maybe around a year and a half since I started doing collage. I am so very happy to be doing it, to be honest very few things bring me as much joy. So, here's a post about me. I really enjoyed cutting out these little figures from my collages. It's kind of funny, because, I already cut them out manually and now I cut them out again digitally haha😄 Anyway, I hope you find it at least a bit interesting.

This cover is very special to me💫 John @wildbasil_music was my very first client, he reached out back in May asking if I would do a cover for his song. I wasn't really sure, because I didn't have much experience with collage then and zero experience with commissions and my level of confidence was quite low at that time😬 But I am glad I agreed because that's when the ball started rolling for me and I honestly can't believe where I am now compared to then. I guess doing uncomfortable things is the only way to grow really. Anyway, in short, the song was about a man searching for a meaning. I made two options, he chose this one and asked to add a rope ladder which I did:) Go listen to John's song, it's amazing!🎶 You can swipe to see that other rejected cover option if you want➡️ #coverart #coverdesign #musiccover #albumcover #selfconfidence #collageart #analogart #artprocess#meaningoflife #vinylart #believeinyourself

Recap of cover art I made this year (sort of:) I started doing commissions in May and since then made more then 40 covers for +-14 musicians. Which means that I listened to more than 40 amazing songs. I got to know some wonderful people and it's a strange feeling, because they didn't tell me anything about them, but after listening to their songs and reading thoughts behind the songs that they sent me (many quite deep and personaI) I feel like I kind of know them. When I make a cover I try to understand what the person feels, to sort of see through their eyes, it's not always successfull as we all have different experiences, but I hope it still worked sometimes. I am grateful to each of my customers, I appreciate you and wish you crazy success with your music (if that's what you want:)

This collage is my version of the Doppelganger from this book👤 The book is a compilation of different monsters and fantastic creatures that people made up over many centuries. There are lots of cool creatures, like a giant elefant with conical legs that helps builders to level the ground, or a plant in a form of a lamb whose legs are roots and it bleeds when you cut it. But I was drawn to this one most of all. I was always fascinated with a concept of an evil twin. Long time ago people believed that it was a physical creature and if you meet your double then it's a sure sign of death. Now it is a common concept in psychology which Jung called the "shadow", a person's dark side that has to be accepted and controlled rather then fought with.

This collage made itself quite fast - as soon as I saw this girl's face expression I came up with this story. I tried to explain my thought process in the next slides 👀

Sometimes things are not what they seem. I saw this concept of a portable hole in one of the disney cartoons long time ago. There was a gopher and he was carrying his hole in a pocket and could just put it on the ground and jump into it whenever he wanted. Brilliant! Btw what is the opposite of a hole? the non-hole, the unhole?🤔

This was a cover option I made for a song about love, lost connection and unfulfilled desires and hopes. The band chose another option, and this one, I think, fits perfectly my "There's nothing left to say" series ➡️

HANDS 🫳 Along with circles, eyes and tiny people are one of my favourite elements. Hands can represent so many things - love, longing, fear, protection, touch, warning, mistery, hesitation, anger, divine, supernatural, and so much more.

So that's how I've been spending my free time lately. I've recently discovered that I don't have to go to the studio to make cups, I actually can make them at home! So I think now I am making cups more often then I make collage. (Right now I am obsessed with cups, I don't want to make anything else😄) This is one of hand building techniques, it's called pinch pot🏺 It's not hard, the most challenging is to apply same pressure evenly and going slowly. The coolest is that you don't need to buy any fancy tools, you don't need a wheel, you only need to buy clay and to find a place where to fire it. Well, you'll need to buy some more things to paint it, but that's another story.
