Wow, 6 years of Blackstage!
Best idea I ever had ๐
1. I started our shows in 2022 after making BIPOC resources and doing giveaways in lockdown for Black polers during a time of heightened Black suffering in isolation. The show sold out Deptford Albany fast and was so cathartic, audience in tears, I knew I had to continue this work.
2. 2023, first show in our home @theclaphamgrand we had no idea of the magnitude of this work and the revolution we had started
3. 2024, community, locked in and properly established. Hearts so full
4. 2025, Audacity, a trying year but we realised we are unstoppable and as a community we strengthened and really leaned on each other.
5. 2026, this year, the year we Reclaimed and continue to reclaim what is ours
Thank you so much to everyone who has showed up for us, performed with us and loved us, it is so felt. You light a fire within us that could never be extinguished,๐ฅ๐ป here's to 600 more years ๐
So obsessed with these shots of beauty queen @cutiewhippingham an all round icon and mother of @blxckstage - one of the most important and outstanding shows in the industry.
Leilaโs been such an inspiration to me for years and is probably the reason I ever really started pole in the first place. So this really was a special one โจ๐

I'm making this post for every marginalised person (particularly BIPOC & SWers) subjected to witnessing what is going on right now, feeling silenced and foreboding, feeling disheartened and afraid to speak. This is textbook discrimination, age old tactics and tropes. Don't worry because so many of us see this for what it is, it's crystal clear. They're afraid of our voices because they speak with truth and hold a mirror up to things they should be ashamed of. If we stop speaking, they stop being afraid to oppress us, so let's keep being loud
How I feel in the lead up to the show and why the filming and photography bts is necessary
