This holiday season, our @cutabove.studios Co-Op actors stepped behind the camera to learn the ins and outs of shooting their own microfilms—including running camera, sound, and lighting. After spending just 20 minutes on a simple script, we improvised our way into 4 Holiday inspired scenes, filmed start to finish in only a couple of hours.

In just 20 minutes, our CoOp actors wrote original holiday micro-films — then brought them to life both in front of and behind the camera. 🎥
Movie magic + good friends = the perfect way to wrap up the year. 🎬✨
Endlessly grateful to spend a frankly fantastic Saturday creating and taping with our little @cutabove.studios CoOp Crew. We wrote four pieces in TWENTY MINUTES and then taped some of them into being yesterday. And then I got to coach of my favorite clients to start today. In the mess of 2025- again- GRATEFUL.

Sarah reached out to create a microfilm to help amp up her on camera work after years on tour and in regionals doing musical theatre. She had footage, it just didn’t show her off like an expanded scene would: we consulted on a custom short that would take advantage of NYC’s procedural-heavy market.
