Rooted deeply in the traditions of Mesopotamia, these women have long played vital roles in their communities — as mothers, farmers, boat rowers, craftswomen, and guardians of a unique cultural heritage. Dressed in flowing black garments that mirror the still waters of the marshes, their presence is both powerful and poetic.
