This picture from January 8th 2011 still hangs proud at the WBC MuayThai head office in Bangkok, it was the night England's Steve Wakeling won the WBC MuayThai World Supermiddleweight belt on our sold out open-air The Champions Club (Official) event in Pattaya. Every time I stand before this picture, all the great and not so great memories of that night come back, it was the first WBC MuayThai title fight I promoted, also one of the best. As time goes by, it remains important to me to remember the beginnings, the strong support from so many and the incredible Muaythai journey we are all on. WBC Australasia six year anniversary 23rd December Coming up Looking back at the first title fight This was a great was a win @daniellewisboxing I was Very proud to coordiate the first WBC Australasia champion , this was the first fight ever of the WBC Australasia gold championship . Myself and @cusickpatrick the @wbcboxing under the leadership of @wbcmoro created and still run today coming up our it six year anniversary on the 23rd of December this year . supervisor on the night was Patrick Cusick Great to look back and see were it’s at today It’s been a long journey and a lot of of hard work . @billyhusseinpromotions who is a legend in our sport hosted the fantastic event on the night in Sydney and was the first promoter . Daniel was a rising star at the time and Australian Olympian in 2012 , WBC Australasia Super Welterweight champion and went on to have a massive pay-per-view fight in the US before his retirement. The same night for the main event was the legend @billydib who who fought for the WBC Australiasis title as well and had a victory Thank you for these two fighters, Billy and Daniel the Pioneers that led the way. Which concluded the start of a championship that has grown and will continue to grow and support support Boxing fighters reach their Dreams I would like to thank all the people who have supported the WBC Australasia so far continuing to supportrs fighters And evolve the sport , we will continue to care and create fair matches and exciting final title fight.

After coordinating for the WBC Australasia for over five years and im extremely grateful being given a little mini belt presented by @cusickpatrick Cusick at the Wbc convention in front of everybody and recognised with a little medal from @wbcmoro It’s been a long road working on the Australasia from the very beginning from the first @billydib title in Sydney I will continue on to educate myself and work for the WBC For the well-being of the sport of Boxing Appreciate all the support from everybody @wbcboxing @wbcasiaofficial @wbc_usa @wbcmoro

The First Ever WBC MuayThai World Titles 🌎 | 20 Years Ago Today On 10th December 2005, the WBC MuayThai crowned its first-ever world champions right here in Australia on the Gold Coast at Xplosion 12. Two World titles in one big night that goes down in Australian Muay Thai history. In the co-main event, two legends squared off for the inaugural WBC MuayThai Super Welterweight World Title. Thailand’s Yodsanklai claimed the belt after defeating Australia’s John Wayne Parr, becoming the first ever WBC World champion. Closing the night, Australian Muay Thai legend Nathan “Carnage” Corbett delivered a crushing KO victory over Magnum Sakai to become the inaugural WBC MuayThai Cruiserweight World Champion.
