What’s on in May...
Book club is up to three nights(!), we’re on our off-month for classics club but (hopefully) working through Madame Bovary, our monthly writing workshop is on the very last Saturday, and Reading & Writing The Bloody Chamber kicks off on Sunday!
@nicolanovelsociety are visiting us in-store on the 9th, and you’ll catch us bookselling for @briswritersfest at @bris_powerhouse on the 13th for Yann Martel’s SON OF NOBODY, and at @thecalilehotel on the 14th for Lisa Wilkinson’s THE TITANIC STORY OF EVELYN, with a handful of seats left for both events.

Genuinely so excited for our next movie night - The Company Of Wolves, based on Angela Carter’s short story, co-written by Carter and director Neil Jordan (yes, Interview With The Vampire director Neil Jordan). It’s cult 80’s gothic horror with the special effects to match, starring Sarah Patterson, Stephen Rea, Angela Lansbury(!), Terrence Stamp(!!) and some excellent dogs having the best time being wolfish.
