Through live sonic interventions, sound artists Regina Martinez, Jared Brown, A.J. McClenon, & Carissa Lee engage with themes of political erasure, memory, and resistance, amplifying the silent traumas left in the wake of state-sanctioned violence and civil neglect. Joining us this Wednesday, we have MIIIA (@miiia_n3zha ) in their first live presentation of “Ashes of Time”, inspired by Wong Kar Wai’s work and classic Asian cult cinema. Through slow movements, shadows, and ritual-like gestures, it displays the connections between memory, longing, and devotion, as well as one’s internalizations about power, fate, and desire.
