As you move closer to “Iris of Memory,” the light within glows brighter, representing the power of memory to connect us to life, even when someone is no longer physically with us. The glowing bouquet embodies our urban greenscape and the need to protect our local and global environment. The flower is inspired by the Louisiana Iris, which is native to the coastal wetlands and planted nearby in the Greenway bioswales.

Our 75th-anniversary sculpture, ‘Reaching,’ has officially joined the Leawood public art collection! Last Thursday, we were joined by ‘Reaching’ artist William S. Nemitoff of @curiousform and HUNDREDS of residents to dedicate this symbolic new piece.

We’re proud to announce the inauguration of the Aión Monument at @oursoutheastern Louisiana University .
Seeing this project come to life is a meaningful milestone for us. The monument is inspired by the concept of Aión, time as continuous and infinite, inviting reflection, presence, and connection beyond the everyday.

Friends, we need your help. We’re a little late in sharing this, but want to highlight some of our work from 2025. This video recap is a taste of what our team did last year, and we don’t want to slow it down. 2025 brought a convergence of challenges that hit our practice hard: several of our projects faced major delays; RFPs for mission aligned projects slowed down as institutions attempted to stay under the radar from anti DEI purges; tariffs and economic uncertainty took a toll on new projects; philanthropic funding has been spread thin.
We have seen amazing support from our community already but were unable to fill our funding gap as a result of these challenges. As a result, we had to say goodbye to four of our coworkers this month. Although we are a smaller team and feeling the grief of parting with beloved team members, we remain committed to the work and are pressing ahead. Djembe Pavilion, 2025. Corten Steel.

Djembe Pavilion is part of a unified network of 3 public cultural pavilions across New Orleans that address themes of displacement and belonging through architectural intervention. The 600 sf pavilion, inspired by the West African djembe drum, is designed to stake out civic gathering space that celebrates cultural resilience and community storytelling in the historic Tremé neighborhood. The structure features custom Adinkra symbols created by neighbors in the Tremé as part of a public workshop.

Curious Form was a design and fabrication partner in the initial stages, providing cost estimating, design development, feasibility studies, fabrication and installation.
Foam Party, 2022. On dreary rainy days like today, we hope for blue skies and rainbows.
Foam Party is a permanent pastel rainbow arch that encapsulates childlike wonder. The custom-fabricated galvanized steel shaka hand mounted on top is a work of art within itself, symbolizing good vibes to reflect the laidback spirit of The Hangout Restaurant. Equipped with three hardwire foam cannons, this installation creates an epic foam wonderland experience for the Hangout Restaurant customers and event-goers.

Coalescence, 2022 | How can flat material be folded to create the organic, double-curved shape of an orchid flower?
The process involved over 50 prototypes using paper, PETG, acrylic, and polycarbonate.
Using a physics simulation and manual geometry, this led to a design that could be bent - without heat - to make the petals and tongue of the orchid flower.
