Cluster Crafts presents ANNEAL in a new Shoreditch gallery. This exhibition brings together skilled metalsmiths from around the world to explore traditional techniques—some at risk of disappearing—that continue to evolve today. Focusing on objects and sculpture, the works reflect clarity of form, careful construction, and a respect for materials that balances durability with adaptability. 20–29 Nov | Shoreditch, London Curated by Giulia Meacci RSVP via link in bio Inquire via DM to apply to exhibit #contemporarycraft #londonartscene #artanddesign #craftfair #finecraft

As President of the Oxford Archaeological Society back in 2019-2020, it was an honour to be invited to speak at the conference ‘A History of Archaeology at Oxford’, held at Keble College last Friday. Speaking alongside some of the greatest minds in the field and my undergraduate teachers was a real pinch-me moment. Thank you to my amazing tutor, Professor Amy Bogaard, who made me fall in love with archaeology as a student, and to Dr Dylan Gaffney for trusting me with this talk. The conference was a fusion of ideas, reflections, and themes, showcasing the extraordinary work that Oxford does worldwide in the field, as well as the history of the discipline. My talk focused on the historical importance and legacy of the Society, and how it helped shape archaeology as a discipline at Oxford through fieldwork and game-changing figures. The Society was a pioneer in the field, accepting women in the 1920s and providing fieldwork training at a time when archaeology was not yet available as a degree option. I spoke about the 100th anniversary of its foundation, which coincided with my presidency and the rebranding of the Society, as well as the challenges and rewards of moving the Society’s activities online during Covid. Insights into the life of the Society in the 1960s-1970s were shared with me by former President Professor Mark Robinson, with whom I collaborated on this talk. The talk builds on an alumni event I held with former Committee members back in March, highlighting the advantages of Society membership - both in terms of people and work skills, and the career advice gained. The conference will lead to a publication, to which I will be a contributor. Stay tuned! ✨ /academic-staff

Collections Curatorship project for the Petrie Museum of Egyptian and Sudanese Archaeology on the study, contextualisation and display of blue faience grapes from the Ancient Egyptian city of Amarna (18th Dynasty, reign of Akhenaten 1353-1335 BC). The grapes are an ornamental feature symbolising the importance of wine production and consumption in the city as a sign of prosperity and abundance. Wine production in Egypt began from at least 3000 BC! Cin cin to this project 🍷 - #wine #egypt #petriemuseum #amarna #curating #curator #archaeology #museum
