Still can’t quite believe this happened.
A short clip from this morning’s BBC Breakfast conversation about craft markets, handmade, and why supporting small businesses really matters — especially in the run-up to Christmas.
I care deeply about protecting genuine makers and the trust that sits at the heart of craft markets. That’s what Curated Makers is built on, and it felt really special to be able to talk about it on such a big platform.
Thank you @bbcbreakfast for having me 🤍

🗓 Curation Two — Sunday & Monday
44 makers. One iconic London landmark. Four days of discovering something beautiful, meeting the people who made it, and finding pieces that will mean something for years to come.
Come and find us at Battersea Power Station this Bank Holiday weekend…NEXT WEEK!! We’d love to see you there 🌸
Eight years ago I stood behind my very first market stall and made £600 through the till.
Sounds great, right? Here’s the reality:
£600 turnover at 20% commission = £120
Stall fee = £60
Parking = £20
Petrol = £20
A couple of coffees to get through the day = let’s say £10
I went home with about a tenner 😅
My second market? Not a single customer through the door. Not one.
And yet somehow, that’s where Curated Makers began.
I’m going back through my camera roll and sharing it all — the real beginning, before the five locations, before the 300+ makers, before any of it. Because I think it’s important to show that every business you admire started somewhere small, scrappy and slightly chaotic.
If you’re at the beginning of your journey right now — this one’s for you.
You have to start somewhere. Eight years later, I’m so glad I did 🤍
Yesterday I went to Buckingham Palace for the Royal Garden Party — and I am still processing it ❤️
It was held in celebration of The King’s Trust 50th anniversary and the privilege of being there is not something I will forget in a hurry. Thousands of people on the most exquisite grounds, performances from young people connected to the Trust, afternoon tea that was so good I genuinely questioned whether the gluten free option was actually gluten free. It was that good.
The gardens were breathtaking. I stole a quiet moment to walk around them alone, which felt really special.
I spent the day with the wonderful Naiomi from @animalteach and if you want a highlight, watching her delight at the geese in the gardens was it. The heavens opened at one point, as they do. But on the whole, we got away lightly.
I felt a million dollars in my Hobbs outfit — which, for the record, was one of the most stressful purchases of my life. Completely worth it.
Afterwards, we headed to Fortnum & Mason for a drink before we went our separate ways. And because I can never quite let a moment end, I then went to the Ritz — alone, in my fascinator — for a glass of champagne and a Caesar salad. Because when else would you?
I am so proud. So emotional. And so very grateful for days like this 🤍
Did you know you can find us in five locations across the UK — open 7 days a week?
Whether you are in London, Liverpool, Manchester, Surrey or Harrogate, there is a Curated Makers store near you, each one home to a unique curation of independent makers, creatives and artists.
📍 Battersea Power Station, London
📍 The Bluecoat, Liverpool
📍 RHS Garden Wisley, Surrey
📍 RHS Garden Bridgewater, Manchester
📍 RHS Garden Harlow Carr, Harrogate
Open every single day. No excuse not to visit. 😊 We look forward to seeing you 🤍
Our RHS concessions are absolutely bursting right now — and we are here for it 🌼🌺
Each of our three RHS locations — Wisley in Surrey, Bridgewater in Manchester and Harlow Carr in Harrogate — is curated specifically with its surroundings in mind.
A focus on horticulture, nature and the local area means we get to work with a wonderfully different type of maker and product at each site. Expect florals, botanicals, colour and creativity in abundance.
And right now, with the gardens coming alive for Spring, there is honestly no better time to visit. Whether you have a garden or not, stepping into an RHS garden leaves you feeling refreshed, inspired and just a little bit more creative than when you arrived. It is one of our favourite places to be; for a solo wander, a family day out, or even a business meeting.
The cafes are always brilliant. And if you know, you know — the jacket potatoes are top notch 😉 🥔
Come and find us across three RHS sites within the garden center shop areas and discover what is in store this Spring. We think you are going to love it.

A little corner refresh at our Battersea Power Station store 🖼️
A few weeks back, Tom was on site and installed a brand new gallery wall in our store and we are so pleased with how it has turned out. This little pocket of the shop now showcases a small selection of our beautiful prints, but do not let that fool you. We stock over 100 different print variations in this store alone.
And to make it as easy as possible to walk away with something wall-ready, we now sell the frames too. At the moment they come in black, but we think black goes with absolutely everything, so we are absolutely fine with that.
Previously this corner was home to our tote bag wall display, which we loved. But we have always wanted to do something a little more intentional with the space and this felt like the right moment.
Our stores are always evolving. Alongside the gallery wall, we have also been upgrading our window displays, our lighting and our fixtures — and over the coming months we will be injecting new makers across all five of our locations too.
It is an exciting time to come and visit. We hope you love it as much as we do.

Something exciting is happening in the workshop.
Tom is creating bespoke trade show props for one of our dearest makers, @WesternSketch and we cannot wait to see it come to life.
This is the first trade show activation we have had the pleasure of working on, and it feels like a really exciting new chapter for our workshop. Based in Bury, Manchester, Tom’s workshop is something we are incredibly proud of — and throughout 2026, we are slowly and carefully opening our books to take on more bespoke projects beyond our own stores.
Shop fits, display builds, trade show activations — if you have a big vision and you need someone to bring it to life, we would love to hear from you.
To enquire, simply head to our website and fill out the enquiry form. The more detail you can share the better — drawings, sketches, sizes, images, Pinterest boards — all of it helps Tom get to work on designing the perfect solution and putting together a quote.
We are currently fully booked for the next few months, so we are taking bookings for Q3, Q4 and into 2027. The earlier you get in touch, the better.
We cannot wait to see what lands in our inbox 📐

We spotted an opportunity and we took it ✨
There was an empty window box sitting right next to our store at Battersea Power Station. Unoccupied, full of potential and impossible to ignore. So we got to work 🙏
We have partnered with six of our incredible makers to fill the space with a beautiful selection of their products — giving visitors to the power station, a little glimpse into the world of Curated Makers and a preview of what is coming this May at our market ✨
A huge thank you to the brilliant makers who made this happen:
✨ @cydsline
✨ @myskinfeels
✨ @anonomajewellery
✨ @ava_and_azar
✨ @elenalondon_
✨ @charlottegodfreyart
‼️ Warning — it may also be the most impossible window in London to photograph 😂😅 The reflection is something else entirely. Trust us, we tried. You are just going to have to go and see it in person 😄
If you are passing, please stop and take a look — and if you manage to get a decent shot, we would absolutely love to see it. Tag us in your photos 📸
The window will be here for the next two months. Whilst you are at Battersea, come and visit our market this May. We’ll be popping up on the ground floor at the Riverside entrance, outside @marksandspencer@on and @macaronipenguin_battersea
🗓️ 22nd, 23rd, 24th & 25th May

This is why we do what we do 🤍
We have a comments book in each of our stores — and when someone takes the time to pick up a pen and write something like this, it genuinely means the world to us.
We are so proud of the spaces we have created and the makers we represent. Feedback like this reminds us exactly why it matters.
If you have not visited us yet, you know where to find us. And if you have — thank you. From the bottom of our hearts 💕
