Happy 30th Birthday to Me!
I remember when I turned 29 I just thought everything was going so great! New job & new beginnings. A few weeks later my Grandmother passed away in front of me! That shattered me for real! After she passed away, I dealt with so much pain! Both physical & mental abuse from so many people who is close to me! I felt lower than when my Mother left this Earth! I centered myself, went back to church, strengthen my faith & prayed to God, my Mother and Grandmother and persevered through all that came my way! I tried my best not to let my personal life effect my professional life. I tried my best to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Knowing that God wouldn’t give me anything I couldn’t handle.
I rose from the concrete! Nothing has every been easy for me! I’ve worked my fingers to the bone for all that I’ve accomplished!
Teaching became a calling after years of being depressed & feeling less than after my Mother passed. In the midst of all that I been through it gave me another reason (other than my loved ones) to wake up every morning and become a better person than I was the day before. On my 30th Birthday I was recognized by my new school for the Highest Academic Achievement for my first year at that school. This bought a tear to my eye! Because at one of the hardest moments of my life, I shined! I shined even when people poured dirt on my name, even when people wanted to see my downfall, when people wanted to do everything in their power to try to defeat me!
I am humbled by all of those who reached out to me, and kept reaching out even when I didn’t respond. I am grateful for those who took their time to help me even when it was all hours of the night!
To all my friends & associates that took the time to celebrate me, I thank you! To my Mother’s & Grandmother’s friends who took the time to celebrate me & check on me, I thank you! To all the little bit of Family that took the time to celebrate me & love me unconditionally, I thank you
29 has taken me through many trials and tribulations!
30 & up will be full of new beginnings! New achievements & wonderful blessings! I am so grateful for another year!
