“Reality For Rent”
This zine is something that I poured my heart into. It explores the idea of sleeping to escape your reality, sold to you through my mock company MOBIUS. The commodification of happiness has always been of interest to me as someone that grew up in a hardworking family with little money; I made this as a tongue-in-cheek fuck you to the systems that make you feel like happiness comes with being able to afford it.
Imposter syndrome goes wild when you come from the background I do and end up somewhere like UAL, but self belief is what carries you through - there has to be spaces for working class people in London’s art world. There were at least five times where I thought I was going to have to drop out from not having enough money to stay in London and being evicted, despite working half the week for half of my degree.
Thank you to everyone that has supported me during me during my three years at London College of Fashion, I adore each and every person that has been by my side (especially @han.slade …)
Special thanks to @ngsooyan the wonderful woman she is
Copies of this zine will be available to purchase in the coming weeks if you wanna get your hands on it 😝
