It's remarkable how quickly kids find their people once they're in the right setting 🤩
No pretense, no performance — just kids being kids, using humour and fun to build genuine connections that feel effortless. 🤝
In Episode 5 of Beyond the Game, our roundtable reflects on why fostering that social synergy isn't just a bonus of sport and play. It gives kids the space to strip away the noise of everyday life and show up as their most authentic selves. 🎯
This is where kids begin building the right tools for lifelong success. 🚀

Sport is just the beginning. ✨
This past March, Toronto kicked off this year's Play to Lead program with a focus on career exploration, skill development, and lifelong success.
Bringing young Black female athletes and coaches together for experiential learning, real conversations, and new connections. 🤗
Rooted in research and driven by inspiring sport leaders, Play to Lead uses sport to develop leadership skills and advance gender equity across Canada. 🇨🇦
This is what it looks like when young women are supported to lead — now and into the future. 🙌🏽

Peer support is one of the most underrated tools in youth development. 🧰
In this episode of Beyond the Game, Rae from Trails Youth Initiative tells a story about a camper ready to quit a challenging hike, but was reminded of her strength — not by a coach, but by her own peers. 🤝
Her bond with her friends is what got her to the finish line. 🏁

Future leaders in the making 💫
We were proud to host @ctjumpstart ’s Play to Lead summit at Harbourfront Centre last month. Participants explored a variety of hands-on workshops, including Scrub & Butter, self-reflection, personal branding and more, all designed to empower the next generation of women in sport and leadership. Programs like this intentionally include underrepresented communities to ensure the next generation of leaders reflects everyone.
Through Play to Lead, athletes don’t just play — they grow. With real-world leadership experiences and ongoing mentorship, they build confidence, expand their networks, and step into leadership both on and off the field. 🤸♀️
Because when girls are given the tools to lead, the impact goes far beyond the field.
