Sahabat Bahari, Kabar membanggakan datang dari panggung internasional! Melalui Ditjen Pengelolaan Kelautan (DJPK) selaku pengampu NCC CTI-CFF Indonesia, kita resmi mengawal kolaborasi universitas pada tingkat regional: Bismarck Solomon Seascape (BSS) Science Hub - University Partnership! 👏👏 #CTICFF #Papua #BentangLaut #BismarckSolomonSeascape #DitjenPK2026

Empat negara. Satu tujuan. #UntukIndonesiaLestari #YKAN #KonservasiAlamNusantara

The CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat was honoured to welcome Ambassadors from CTI-CFF Member Countries and partner countries, alongside representatives from partner organisations, to the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat Office in Manado on 24 April 2026 for a meaningful diplomatic visit focused on strengthening regional cooperation and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in advancing a sustainable Blue Economy. 🌊 Hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, the visit featured a productive discussion on strengthening partnerships and accelerating the implementation of the Regional Plan of Action (RPOA) 2.0, while also showcasing Indonesia’s efforts in sustainable fisheries, coral reef conservation, and ecosystem-based coastal management. We are truly encouraged by the strong spirit of partnership shown throughout this visit and look forward to turning these discussions into concrete collaboration and action. Together, we can accelerate the implementation of the Regional Plan of Action 2.0 and drive meaningful progress in marine conservation, sustainable fisheries, and blue economy development across the Coral Triangle region. Today, 20 February 2026, the CTI-CFF Women Leaders’ Forum (WLF) gathered virtually for its Online Preparatory Meeting, setting the direction for this year’s in-person WLF Meeting and Regional Exchange. The session aligned the 2026 Workplan, strengthening coordination among CT6 member countries and strategic partners. We acknowledge Malaysia as this year’s Chair, with Coral Triangle Center (CTC) as Co-Chair, and the active participation of The Nature Conservancy (TNC). This year, the in-person WLF Meeting and Regional Exchange will be held back-to-back with the launch of TNC’s Coral Triangle Resilience: Empowering Stewardship in the Coral Triangle project — reinforcing collective efforts to elevate women’s leadership and regional collaboration. We look forward to building stronger partnerships, amplifying women’s voices, and translating commitments into tangible action across the Coral Triangle region. #CTICFF #WLF #WomenLeadersForum #WomenInConservation #CoralTriangle

Today, 19 February 2026, The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF) Regional Secretariat convened the Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Technical Working Group (TWG) Online Preparatory Meeting. This session set the strategic tone for the year for the MPA TWG — aligning the approved 2026 Workplan and Budget, elevating key marine protected area management issues, and strengthening technical coordination across the CT6 member countries and strategic & development partners. As pressures on marine ecosystems intensify, effective and well-managed MPAs remain central to safeguarding biodiversity, fisheries productivity, and coastal livelihoods across the Coral Triangle. This marks the beginning of a series of Technical Working Group online preparatory meetings for 2026, as CTI-CFF continues to strengthen cross-pillar coordination and regional delivery. #CTICFF #CoralTriangle #MarineProtectedAreas #RegionalCooperation #CoralTriangleInitiative

The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF) Regional Secretariat looks forward to working closely with The Ocean Cleanup to turn this shared commitment into tangible actions that reduce plastic pollution and protect the Coral Triangle’s marine and coastal ecosystems. 🌊 Signed in Singapore, this MOU strengthens collaboration on river clean-ups, data collection, research, and policy support — all in line with RPOA 2.0 priorities. Together, we are taking hopeful steps toward cleaner oceans and healthier coastal communities. We are excited to see this collaboration create impact not only across the Coral Triangle region, but also contribute to global solutions in the fight against plastic pollution. What we achieve here can inspire action far beyond our waters. #HopeForOurOceans #CTICFF #TheOceanCleanup #RPOA2 #PlasticPollution

Aligning Regional Ocean Priorities with ASEAN CTI-CFF began the year with a strategic exchange with ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, together with Ambassador Nico Barito, Founder and Chair of the Blue Institute and Special Envoy of the President of Seychelles for ASEAN. The dialogue underscored the Coral Triangle as ASEAN’s shared natural capital and its strategic role in advancing blue economy development, food security, sustainable fisheries, and maritime and ocean security, while exploring pathways for stronger ASEAN–CTI-CFF alignment. “The CTI agenda goes beyond biodiversity conservation. It is closely aligned with the direction of the global economy and presents an opportunity for ASEAN to lead on marine conservation and a sustainable blue economy,” said Dr. Frank Griffin, Executive Director of CTI-CFF. This exchange reflects a shared commitment to deepening regional cooperation and positioning the Coral Triangle within ASEAN’s broader economic and sustainability priorities. #CTICFF #coraltriangle #ASEAN #BlueInstitute #BlueEconomy RegionalCooperation coraltriangleinitiative

🌊 Understanding the CTI‑CFF RPOA 2.0 🌏 The Regional Plan of Action (RPOA 2.0) guides the six Coral Triangle countries in protecting marine biodiversity, supporting coastal communities, and promoting sustainable ocean use. SOMACORE supports the RPOA 2.0 by: ✅ Strengthening policy application, international standards, and collaboration for seascape-level governance. ✅ Promoting ecosystem-based resource management and effective area-based conservation practices. ✅ Facilitating knowledge sharing and lessons learned to enhance national and transboundary ocean governance. Together, these efforts help ensure the sustainable use and protection of the Coral Triangle’s coastal and marine biodiversity. The SOMACORE Programme is supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUKN) through the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and is being implemented by 10 organizations across the Coral Triangle. #CoralTriangle #CTICFF #RPOA2 #MarineConservation #OceanGovernance #SustainableSeas #SOMACORE

CTI-CFF SOM-20 | Concluding 2025 with Strengthened Regional Collaboration The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) convened the 20th Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM-20) in Bali, Indonesia on 10–11 December 2025, preceded by the Pre-SOM sessions on 8–9 December. These engagements provided an important platform for constructive dialogue, strategic review, and the alignment of priorities to support our region’s marine and coastal agenda. Senior officials from the Coral Triangle Six (CT6) Member Countries convened to review the year’s progress, deliberate on key reports and recommendations, and endorse regional workplans and decisions aimed at advancing coordinated action and cooperation across the Coral Triangle. We extend our appreciation to the CT6 Member Countries, development partners, collaborators, and all stakeholders for their continued support and active participation throughout the Pre-SOM and SOM-20. In particular, we convey our sincere gratitude to NCC Indonesia (Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Republic of Indonesia) for co-hosting and facilitating the successful conduct of this meeting. As we approach the closing of this year’s activities and prepare for 2026, we look forward to building on the outcomes of SOM-20 and continuing to strengthen cooperation, partnerships, and coordinated action to safeguard the Coral Triangle’s rich marine resources for present and future generations. Together, we remain committed to a resilient, sustainable, and prosperous region. 🌏🤝 Read more: /news/coral-triangle-initiative-coral-reefs-fisheries-and-food-security-cti-cff%E2%80%99s-20th-senior-officia #CTICFF #SOM20 #CoralTriangle #Indonesia #Malaysia PapuaNewGuinea Philippines SolomonIslands TimorLeste OceanGovernance MarineConservation RegionalCooperation Photo credit: - Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Republic of Indonesia - CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat
