One month + 1 day ago, our miracle arrived and our lives have forever changed! We’ve experienced deep emotions that goes beyond words of gratefulness. In that, I acknowledge that today is not easy for many, whether you’re going through infertility or a loss. Know that I see you— you are valued! Being a mother is tough as hell— it is not for the weak at heart. (Pair that with a c-section delivery, which is hard and challenging at times) It is not what you see on hallmark movies. It is not the “glam life” that women portray on social media… LIES! Lol! It is the MOST difficult job you’ll ever have— it is a “hazing” experience like no other.... mentally, emotionally, and physically. It is an emotional rollercoaster that breaks you! But, in that same breath, it is the MOST fufilling role you’ll ever be given. ♥️ It is a love that you’ll never, ever, ever, ever experience until you’re on this side— it is the truest form of agape love! No earthly comparison! This love also breaks you! You will rob, steal, and kill for this child. You will die for this child, sacrificing your own life for them. You will do whatever it takes to provide by any means necessary. They love you unconditionally. They seek your love, comfort & protection. So, to every nipple cracking/sore, pumping, or formula feeding momma doing her best despite the brokenness, breakdowns, long morning and nights, self-blame because our body isn’t responding as we’d like, paired with societal pressures from other opinions who need to mind their own (DO YOU, BOO!)… I salute you. I see you! You are not invisible! Your feelings matter. Your emotions are valid! Cry, cuss, scream, and repeat as much as you need to. As I remind myself daily … show yourself GRACE and FORGIVENESS, because you are good enough! To that child, YOU are perfect. And YOU are kicking AZZZZZZ! On this blessed Good Friday, I reflect on not only the crucification and burial of my Christ, the sacrifices He made for my existence, but on where He’s taken me from 9 months ago. This journey .. this divine assignment .. this purpose … this miracle. I have 6 days left until my scheduled C-section (I’ll be 37 weeks and having a C-section at 37 weeks is required for “most” women who have had myomectomies — depending on the severity). WE are going to kick a** .. you hear me! Take no prisoners alive. 💪🏽 So, prayer warriors, get ready!! And lastly, I am thankful for the reconnections in relationships and new friendships that I’ve re-built / built because of this journey. Women who I haven’t spoken to in years, new moms who I never connected with, and sistas who I’ve gained because of this new fond journey (our pain and trials). This is purpose-driven! P.S. And please …. can you ask Landon to give me a little break here and there … lol… this little booga is SUPER ACTIVE! Non-stop movement, kicking, hitting, ERRRRYYYYTHANG! He don’t rest or take a break! I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. - 1 Samuel 1:27 These past 6 months have been the most fulfilling, loving, and life-changing months of my life. A joy and happiness that I’ve never felt before — protecting my peace and space at all costs— living and loving life on my terms. As you all know, I am VERY, VERY open,publicly,about our journey of loss through miscarriages. THIS IS MY CALLING! 🙏🏽 So, after 5 years of marriage, 3 miscarriages🌈🌈🌈, 2 myomectomy procedures, 2 IVF cycles, 1 IVF transfer, over 250 injections and countless procedures, surgeries, labs and bloodwork, our story of loss has become our story of GAIN, as we prepare to welcome Landon Austin Arnold aka “UNO” …. “The One”… into this world. From our first miscarriage in 2018, my husband @oatheagent and I pledged to turn our complicated, yet beautiful journey into our couple’s ministry. We intentionally decided, without a second thought, to proudly be the face of infertility, miscarriages (loss), fibroids, and all things associated with shame and trauma, to couples and women who experience this pain! We wanted OUR testimony to be used for God’s glory. So, we accepted the assignment knowing that we were chosen for such a task as this. And in return, for our three (3) losses, God blessed us with three (3) perfect embryos (2 boys and 1 girl). Biblically, the number 3 is sacred; an extreme significance in prophetic fulfillment— the Holy Trinity. Speaking of harmony, fortune, abundance, and wisdom. So keep us in prayer, because WE STILL NEED THEM, as we come near to our final trimester. Know that GOD can and HE will. Trust the process! I want to THANK our family, tribe, friends from near and far, prayer warriors, but most importantly, @cnyfertility for everything they’ve done for us, in making IVF affordable for ALL. Just a lady 💁🏽‍♀️… (yall I ain’t take a bathroom shot in forever .. so yall don’t pay me no mind lol 😂) Shout out to my lil sis (1 year FAMU College of Law student) and the other two FAMU law students, for receiving a scholarship from the Haitian Lawyers Association, at their annual scholarship gala! There is not a place you will go, where you won’t find one of us soaring to higher heights.💚🧡 BUT what is even more impressive, is that the Dean of the law school came down to Miami to support his three law students. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽That is why I am forever forever forever indebted and in LOVE with my @famu_1887 for the love and excellence of care from professors and administrators like this.

On Friday, we celebrated your life, our dear sister in Rattler love 💚🧡, family, friendship, faith, and community. To our miracle son, Landon, Happy Birthday! YOU never leave us bored and always on the edge of our seats for the next adventure (praying that you don’t get sent to the hospital or us to jail😩🤦🏽‍♀️ lol). You keep us crawling through things we have no business in, fitting in holes we don’t belong in, and jumping on things that we know ain’t supported by our weight. Lawdy! But that’s WHO YOU ARE! WHO God made you to be🥹. Energetic, fun, full of life, the BIGGEST & MOST BEAUTIFUL SMILE IN THE WORLD (thanks to your mother lol), adventurous to a fault, curious, STRONG, intelligent, loving, mushy, and strong at the same time. 🗣️Because Black Maternal Health matters. So honored to have moderated, for the second year in a row, a panel discussion at the 2nd Annual Symposium. But this year, my panel was on postpartum for mom’s and dad because we can’t forget about our father’s. And what a beautiful conversation we had. What a hell of a couple of weeks it’s been. But we made to this day! 🙏🏽 ON THIS Saturday, 4/11, join me and my sister-friend, Vice-Mayor Kassandra Timothe of North Miami @councilwoman_kt @kassandratimothe as she host her 2nd annual Black Maternal Health Symposium & Resource Fair, starting at 1 PM with a Mommy + Me Yoga / Pilates session. This is a family - friendly event, where we will discuss topics that not only hit home for black mothers and guardians, but also dads and young girls. Not to mention, I have the great pleasure of moderating a panel discussion again, at 2:40p, but this year, on the topic of “Postpartum – What Mom & Dads Can Expect”. And my sister @adventuresoflawyermom ⁩will join as a panelist. So, come out and support!
