Connecticut owns and maintains 2,800 traffic signals, more than all of the DOTs in New England combined!🤯 They control the traffic lights, so there are no conflicting signals at intersections and the lights run smoothly. As you can see there are a LOT of moving parts in the box, and every one is important! #CTDOT #TrafficLight #TrafficSignal #StopLight

This National Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day, students, teachers, and families across the state got to enjoy a beautiful morning outdoors before the start of school! Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day is about more than a fun event, it’s an opportunity to connect on issues that communities care about, like creating safer and more walkable routes to school, building a sense of community and school spirit, and encouraging families to have an active school commute more often. Thank you to all who participated! #CTDOT #WalkBikeAndRollToSchoolDay #WalkBikeRoll

Burns led the milling phase on Route 104, removing the existing asphalt across approximately 1.5 miles as part of a resurfacing effort with the CTDOT. This is the kind of work that doesn’t get seen during the day—but it’s what keeps projects moving. Crews worked overnight to keep traffic flowing while still delivering consistent progress. It’s a coordinated effort that depends on experience, communication, and a clear understanding of how to keep production steady from start to finish.
