This year’s 2nd Chance Job Fair saw record numbers of jobseekers and employers. Thank you to the Bexar County Reentry Center, and all the groups and individuals who helped to make it a success.
Our Converse office will be closed due to the airshow at Randolph Air Force Base. The road that leads to the substation and Pct 4 offices off Rocket Lane will be shut down starting May 1st to extend over the weekend. Office hours will resume May 4th.
The King William Parade is always such a delight! The eccentric costumes, the vibrant colors and energy, and the interactions with the crowd put the best of Southtown’s unique community on display. Can’t wait to see everyone again next year!
I’m inviting you to join me and my team on this Saturday from 9 AM to noon as we partner with River Aid San Antonio to restore Elm Cove Pond.
We’ll be removing litter and heavy debris, and I hope you’ll come lend a hand—even 30 minutes can make a real difference.
Afterward, stay for a free hot dog cookout at Live Oak Lake.
Gloves and supplies will be provided. Just bring water, wear closed-toed shoes and a can-do attitude!

We did it! I’m celebrating with my fellow Democrats here in New Orleans where the DNC just passed our resolution condemning the ICE detention centers and the abominable, un-American “immigration policies” the Trump Administration is implementing across the nation.
Bexar County & RASA is teaming up to revitalize Elm Cove Pond. We need YOUR help!
Our community’s strength can pull TONS of trash to give this ecosystem the fresh start it deserves. 🗑️🚮
After the heavy lifting is done! We’re hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Cookout
📍Live Oak Lake Park
🕰️12:30 pm.
🌭 (Beef & Vegan options will be available)

The Trump Administration has been overpaying by tens of millions of dollars for new ICE facilities all over the US, including right here in Bexar County—wasting our taxpayer dollars to imprison people without due process. Now, investigations are being launched, and, as Rachel Maddow says, it most certainly “smells like corruption.” Watch the report below!
Volunteers Needed! This site has been overwhelmed by 10’s of thousands of LBS of trash and debris - Bexar County and River Aid San Antonio need your help to address it before it’s pushed downstream!
