As a Potential New Member, what was your fraternity recruitment experience like? What advice would you have given yourself?⁠ ⁠ If I were to give any piece of advice to any men potentially interested in fraternity life at CSULB, that would be to put yourself out there and don't be afraid to meet new people. Coming to a new school and starting fresh can be very intimidating, you don't know many people if any and it can feel like everything surrounding you is foreign. However, people in [Fraternity and Sorority Life] here at the Beach are here to help you and guide you through everything. The brothers I met at the Theta Chi tent during week of welcome made me feel as if I were at home. They were so welcoming and friendly when I approached their table. They introduced me to all the members at the table and answered all of my questions. I formed a connection with many of the brothers right off of the start and I knew this was the organization for me. What is an unexpected experience/thing you got from being apart of a fraternity?⁠ ⁠ I found people in PIKE that I can genuinely see myself being friends with for the rest of my life. These men will be at my wedding, a part of my businesses, uncles to my children, and in my life for as long as I shall live. Even now, my business partner was in my new member class. I knew brotherhood was a main component of fraternities but this was something I could have never expected. There are so many ⁠ like-minded and driven individuals that I am truly grateful all these men were brought into my life. "You're the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with." Why did you join an Interfraternity Council (IFC) fraternity?⁠ ⁠ I joined a fraternity Because it is a brotherhood formed around common goals and aspirations while not ignoring the individual's ideas along the way. Members make a commitment to each other for life. I noticed Members that form a fraternity share their efforts, friendship, and knowledge. Together they learn, grow, and make the fraternity stronger and welcoming for everyone. How has joining a sorority impacted your college experience?⁠ ⁠ As a commuter student, I was worried about feeling disconnected from the school since I wasn't dorming when I started college. Although I was hesitant, I'm so glad that I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and went through with recruitment. Since joining Delta Gamma, it has allowed me to find a group of women that inspire me to become the best version of myself. After being heavily involved in high school, it felt essential for me to do the same in order to get the most out of my college experience. What is an unexpected experience/thing you got from ⁠ being apart of a sorority?⁠ ⁠ One of the most surprising and transformative experiences I gained from being a part of a sorority is a profound sense of genuine confidence. Prior to entering college, I struggled with self-assurance, but upon joining the sorority and being surrounded by supportive sisters who constantly uplift and inspire each other, I have undergone a remarkable personal transformation. This newfound confidence has significantly impacted not only who I am as an individual but also my overall life.
