From baked‑goods‑inspired beers to bright weather and even brighter minds, this year’s event was a true celebration of student creativity, fermentation science, and community. Thanks to our amazing brewing partners, faculty mentors, and everyone who came out to support student innovation. 💛💚

In the Fermentation & Food Science Innovation Hub and Brew Kitchen, almost every day is beer day. From breaking down and analyzing different styles to brewing their own, our fermentation students get truly hands‑on with the science behind what’s in the glass.

Earlier this month, our @csu_fshn Fermentation and Food Science program teamed up with @csu.apacc for a hands‑on kimchi making workshop!
Events like these help us spice up the learning experience while cultivating community and connection. Shout out to everyone who joined and thank you to Dr. John Wilson for leading the class 🤝
Last football season, our @csu_fshn Rams teamed up to bring their very own concession stand to Canvas Stadium: Gifford Brews and Bites! 🏈🐏
Beyond serving student-made snacks and brews like the popular CAM’s Crusher lager, Gifford Brews and Bites also provided a hands-on learning experience for student volunteers, from beverage and food production in the lab and kitchen to learning how to market and sell products.
For Parker Meuli, a Fermentation and Food Science Student, Brews and Bites was a near-perfect fit with his academic interests, propelling his professional and personal growth.
“We are definitely proud of the beer we make, and this has been a unique opportunity to say, ‘We’re making this, we’re doing this,’” he said.
