Race 3 of the Master's of MX series breakdown time!
Once again we had perfect weather and great track conditions at Happy Ramblers.
Went 1-1 for first overall in 40B. I finally got some good starts and made life easy on myself, and had a lot of fun riding the 350 out front.
Went 4-2 in for 3rd overall (AGAIN) in 35B. Had a silly little stall and tip over in moto 1 and finished 4th...not a great race. Moto 2 a couple guys went down in the first corner and I got in the lead on lap 1 and held it until the last lap, but unfortunately got passed a few turns from the finish and got 2nd. I dropped my lap time by 4 seconds in the last moto, so I'm overall happy with my effort, just didn't have the pace to stay in the lead.
Everyone tagged here rode really well, and more importantly we all came away healthy and ready for the next race.
Looking forward to the next one! We'll be back at Happy Ramblers on May 30th. 👍
Awesome ride today in the woods! Finally got a chance to ride the 1974 Bultaco Frontera 250 my dad picked up last year. Pretty cool experiencing the advancements in technology from 1974 to 2023. The Beta 300 is absolutely amazing, but to be honest, the Bultaco still gets the job done...you just can't go as fast, lol. Now to get ready for the final Master's MX race tomorrow 👍💪.
And just like that, we're back to moto with these muchachos. Hard to think of a better way to spend Labor Day! I felt great on the bike(s) today and the track conditions at Breezewood Proving Grounds were perfect, as always. Life is good! 🙂
We took a street ride today for a change of pace. It's a different kind of excitement, but exciting nonetheless. It's a less physically demanding way to get my fix 😆. I'm grateful that I can still ride with my dad and continue to make memories 🙏.
Excellent solo evening ride! 66.2 miles, non-stop until my gas light came on. A nice mix of fast and flowy with some single track. This Beta 430 X-Pro just might be the best overall woods bike ever made 🤔😳. Would I choose the 300 2-stroke for anything super slow and technical, absolutely...but for everything else, this bike is unbelievable. It makes you feel like a hero, so easy to ride and confidence inspiring.
Awesome solo ride in the woods today! Wet and slick, but not too bad for how much rain we've gotten. 50 miles and 2 hours, 25 minutes on the bike without stopping or taking a break. My cardio level is feeling like it did in my 20's...now, if I could just get my joints and my memory like they were in my 20's, I'd be good to go!
Just finished up some absolutely epic motos at the Messerman farm. The track was as good as it gets...perfect dirt! Put a total of 2.5 hours of run time on the Yamaha 250 twins...1.5 hours on the 250FX and 1 hour on the 250F. It sure beats a day of work!
Had a great time at Doublin Gap MX on Sunday. As usual, Mid Moto Media killed it with some awesome photos. To my fellow riders: please support these photographers and buy some pics, they work hard getting awesome pics of us old slow dudes 😆🤣
