CSD BASEL 2025— INTRO SPEECH 🔥 This is a pride demo, but I don’t know how you are feeling. I don’t think we're here because we are proud, I think primarily we are here because we are grieving, we are here because we are angry. We are here because our trans comrades and siblings in the UK and US are slowly being legislated out of existence, we are here because similar political sentiments are increasingly coming up here in Switzerland. Because we are becoming one of the main scapegoats used to justify the increasing fascisisation across Europe. We are here because anti-queer hate crimes have more than doubled over the past three years in Switzerland. Because even when we don’t face direct violence, we are systematically and systemically abandoned. Queer and trans people face disproportionate rates of homelessness, mental health issues, poverty and a lack of access to appropriate medical care. This is not a political oversight. This is not inevitable. This is not tragedy. This is a known and purposeful symptom of deeply exploitative and deadly systems. I don’t know how you are feeling, but I am terrified. It's difficult to stay proud under such conditions while queer people everywhere are struggling to stay themselves, to stay safe, to stay alive. And to make things worse, superficial notions of pride have been appropriated by money-hungry capitalist industries trying to reach a new consumer demographic. Pride has been co-opted to distract from and sometimes justify a wide range of corporate and state atrocities, ranging from union busting to genocide. But this is not real pride. Real pride has always been a genuine celebration of the beauty, diversity and perseverance reflected in all – but especially the most marginalised parts – of queer existence. Pride has always been a vigil, a place where we are able to honour the lives and legacies of those we have lost, a place where we can give meaning and dignity to our lives by making each other grievable, even in times where the powers that be make it very clear that they don't see us this way. Fundraiser accessibility ✨️ ➡️ Wheelchair access: KHaus is wheelchair accessible. There is a ramp next to the main entrance on the Kasernenhof, and a ground level entrance on the Rhein side as well as an elevator. Accessible toilets as well as defibrillators can be found on the ground floor and the second floor. For more visit khaus.ch/de/besuchen/zugaenglichkeit/ ➡️ Awareness: There will be an awareness team present wearing neon vests or bands. If you or someone around you is in need of support, you can talk to them and they will help you. There will also be an awareness concept physically hung up at the event, with guidelines on how to best show up for each other. ➡️ Sensory needs: The event will feature music, food, smells, and crowds. If you get overwhelmed, KHaus offers many spaces where you can find some peace and quiet, like sitting areas on the ground floor or sofas on the first floor. If you need someone to go outside with you, talk with, or offer some other kind of help, the awareness team is there for you. ➡️ Food: There will be vegan options for both savoury and sweet foods from the buffet. So far there are no gluten free options, please dm us if you want to bring something! If you have any allergies, please talk to the people at the food stalls. ➡️ Pricing: Entry is free and donation-based. 100% of your donation will go to the Trans Safety Emergency Fund and families in Gaza. All proceeds from our entry collections, food, drinks, nail art and merch will be donated. There will be a bar run separately by Kollektiv Durchzug, who collaborated with us by providing the event space.

Demo accessibility ✨️ ➡️ Demo route: The route is flat except for the start (there is a pretty steep slope for 50 meters between Theaterplatz and Bankverein). Dm us if you need any assistance for that part of the route and we will make sure you get help. There is also a slight downward slope on Wettsteinbrücke. The whole route is on concrete streets. ➡️ Silent block: There will be a silent block at the end of the demo. Since the demo won’t be very large, it’s possible that the louder blocks will still be quite audible, but there won't be any chanters / sound wagons in the silent block. ➡️ Awareness : There will be an awareness team present wearing neon vests. If you or someone around you is in need of support, you can talk to them and they will help you. There will also be an awareness bike carrying: water, snacks, period products and a variety of other material support as well. Just ask for what you need! There will also be an awareness concept with guidelines on how to best show up for each other. ➡️ Demo sani: The CSD demo will be supported by the Sanitätskollektiv Basel. If you need anything medically, they will help you. You can spot them by their neon vests and first-aid backpacks. ➡️ Speeches: The speeches this year sadly won‘t be translated into sign language. What we will do is post a written version of most speeches before they‘re being held at 13:00, so you can read along. Check our story / new posts on the day!

Awareness Konzept 💕 «Awareness» kommt von «to be aware» und bedeutet sich bewusst sein, aufmerksam sein, sensibilisiert sein. Wir wollen ein Raum sein, der sensibilisiert ist auf Diskriminierungs- strukturen und mögliche physische und psychische Grenzüberschrei- tungen. An erster Stelle soll dabei der Respekt vor mentalen und körperlichen Grenzen stehen. ‼️Nur JA heisst JA. Jegliche Interaktionen basieren auf dem Prinzip des Konsens. Konsens bedeutet, dass eine zurechnungsfähige Person ausdrücklich und freiwillig einer Handlung zustimmt. Nur ein freies Ja, bedeutet Ja. Ein Ja muss nicht ein Ja bleiben. Konsens muss immer wieder neu verhandelt werden. ‼️Gegen Diskriminierung. Am CSD ist kein Platz für jegliche Formen der Diskriminierung und Gewalt, Grenzverletzungen oder übergriffiges Verhalten. Wir tolerieren keinen Sexismus, Rassismus, Ableismus, Zionismus , Antisemitismus oder jegliche Form von LGBTQ+ -Feindlichkeit. Dazu gehört auch, nach Pronomen anderer Menschen zu fragen und diese nicht einfach zu raten. ‼️Respektiere Grenzen. Wir alle haben unterschiedliche Grenzen. Was eine Person verletzt und diskriminiert, kann für eine andere Person okay sein. Sei dir dem in den Interaktionen mit Personen bewusst. We take the streets to show our anger at the increasing risk to queer and especially trans rights, in solidarity with intersectionally marginalized queer and disabled people and our imprisoned comrades. Gemeinsam malen wir das Fronttranspi für den CSD am 18. Oktober 🔥✊ Für eigene Bastelprojekte wie Schilder, Flaggen etc. könnt ihr gerne eure eigenen Materialien mitbringen.
