2026 marks 20 years of Hannah Montana! Series creator Michael Poryes will be speaking here at SF State about having a career in the creative field in the age of AI.
Michael Poryes has been named the Peter and Rosemary Casey Executive Fellow for Spring 2026. All interested are invited to attend “A Conversation with Michael Poryes: The Creative Career in the Age of AI” on Tuesday, May 5th at 3:30-4:45 p.m. in HUM133. Come with questions!
The Executive Fellow program was established by the generous support of Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts alumni Peter and Rosemary Casey. Mr. Casey pursued a career in television writing rising to co-create and executive producing the hit show Frasier.
Mr. Poryes’ credits are extensive include co-creating and executive producing TV shows Hannah Montana and That’s So Raven.

On 9/29, Florito Maniego, a producer for 49ers Pre and Postgame at NBC Sports Bay Area was our guest for the speaker session. He gave us insight to his role at NBC Sports and his path to getting to that point. Also we learned about his experience at BECA when he was a student here at SFSU. It was a great session and we hope to have him back for future sessions. Join CSB to be able to join these important guest speaker sessions!
