The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has urged parents, guardians, and teachers to strengthen offline relationships with children to support safer online behaviour.
This is because children who feel supported offline are more likely to speak up about online harms such as cyberbullying, grooming, harmful content, and suspicious interactions.
Parents and teachers were urged to improve their digital literacy and make use of safety tools such as parental controls, content filters, and screen time settings.
The message was shared during a cyber safety session at the CAMFED Mobile Learning Lab training programme in Bolgatanga, facilitated by Ms. Mary Bawa, an official of the CSA. #childonlineprotection #childonlinesafety

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has expressed his excitement at the establishment of a branch of the Cyber Security Authority in the Volta Region.
According to Hon. Gunu, cybersecurity matters must be treated with the utmost importance, given that cybercrimes and related issues affect everyone, including politicians and other public figures, citing examples of criminals impersonating Members of Parliament and other government officials to carry out investment and recruitment scams.
He indicated that the CSA Office, when operationalised in the region, will boost cybersecurity awareness, create job opportunities, and most importantly, help curb the menace of cybercrime in the region.
This occurred during a visit by a delegation from the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), led by the Director for Capacity Building and Awareness Creation, Mr. Alex Oppong, to the Volta Regional Minister in Ho. The visit was to inspect an office space allocated through collaboration between the Volta Regional Minister and the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP).
