So I have to tell you about this little journey one of our dogs “lil Ricky” went through. I thought “ooh it’s summer let’s get her a cute hair style”. (My other 2 dogs are hairless so that’s not possible with them). I told the groomer “you have full creative feedom-you can turn her into a little tiger if you want, a little watermelon with a green on her paws and pink on her top with little seeds, anything you’d like”. I even showed her reference photos. The “stylest” seemed excited! I had my bro drop her off and pick her up because we were at the pow wow all weekend. (I WOULD NOT HAVE PAID IF I HAD PICKED HER UP LIKE THAT).I was so excited to see her when I got home to see her new “hair color”! Well, this is what I saw! Ricky looked like she had been a victim of Aunties Bingo dobber, or kisiks sharpie markers, or like a toddler went to town with the stamps from the dollar store! 🤣😂LMFAO! I could tell it was messing with her self confidence as she looked out the window all sad. It was actually l quite hilarious and entertaining, plus I’m not an asshole and decided not to put the place on blast, and instead they’d loose the business of my 3 dogs. I found another place to fix my little girls botched “Beverly Hills Chihuahua custom fur doo”. She looks a lot cuter as a purple monkey then aunties bingo dobber card. 🤣thank you @premiumpetstyling , Lil Ricky now feels fabulous.💜 #tacoterrier #doghairdye #purplehaze

What an incredible weekend! My son Kisik and i danced together at the @enochcreenation pow wow. We shared the Mother/Son dance and it was one of the the most beautiful experiences of my life. I felt overwhelmed with love and had to hold back my tears while dancing so I could stay on beat lol. It was Kisiks very first pow wow in his regalia and my first one back after a very long time. My Nation honored me, which was really special. 🪶 Hiy Hiy My husband @_hawthornehenry was right there the whole time on the side lines, supporting, smilimg at us, giving us water, getting Kisik ready, and cheering us on. My god, I love you more and more every day. You are the most loving man and always reminded that our souls are a perfect fit.😍 It’s amazing how my regalia all came together in just one week. I have to give big love to @ladawn.redcrow This woman was my Angel. We chose all the fabrics together and then she brought my vision to life and created the most beautiful dress and shawl in just a few days. I had all my beadwork, but it wasn’t assembled. The person I originally asked couldn’t do it, so in a pinch (also thinking she wouldnt have time) reached out to her to see if she could do that too. And she did! She helped me get dressed, braided my hair, and was there for anything I needed. I felt taken care of. Thank you! Also to the orher women for the little tips and schooling me on how the pow wow world works and is thank you. Being emerced in our gorgeous culture was the vibe this weekend. After so long of being sidelined, the shift is happening and we’re creating our own lane. So proud of this one.
