ā€œHi Megan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business? I was afraid to start my business, I did not think I had what it took to be an entrepreneur. This is a constant battle for me even today, it is not easy or natural to me. We were all taught to seek comfort, stability and work for people. After working in the aerospace industry in the beginning of my career, I realized that if I started my business and began to make the hair products people were requesting from me, it would allow me to do the real work I wanted to see in the world, more aligned with impact and humanitarian activities. In high school, I envisioned program where people could focus on self confidence, personal development, shifting your mindset and crown care so I worked towards this vision from the beginning. Therefore, with a few pivots from selling hair products to creating wellness and confidence hair experiences, I was able actualize this vision via my brand, Crownworkshop. @crownworkshop ā€œ Entrepreneurship is so difficult and when you feel a little tired and defeated, it’s beautiful to be celebrated for the journey. Fun fact: a few years ago… Shout out LA and Atlanta/ other outlets reached out to me for stories and I wouldn’t do the interviews 🄓🄓I didn’t feel impressed by my business or where I was / what was created, I wanted to do and create more… See full interview, link in bio. Do more of what brings joy ✨✨✨✨ Over the last two years I’ve done many @crownworkshop experiences in Ghana and South Africa but I opted not to share… 🄓 The reason is managing relocating to South Africa, then Ghana, relationships, my inner world, disappointments and the norm of failing forward in entrepreneurship has not been easy. But I am grateful that I get to being a much needed experience for girls globally. 🄰 But thankfully God is good and always makes a way. It’s important for me to practice what I preach to the girls and to care for self/avoid pouring from an empty cup… 🄓 I love these testimonials and clips from @crownworkshop experiences. Learn more about my work and the impact of @crownworkshop via the link in my bio. Contact me for an Ć©vent at your non profit and school 😊 Stay tuned for new experiences in the US, updates and programming for the rest of the year… somehow when I see these videos from experiences in South Africa, Ghana and the US, the fire ignites in me to keep going. I can’t respond to every comment on IG and TikTok but I want to highlight that I’ve never felt so compelled to devote myself to anything like I have with @crownworkshop . I gave up a lot to follow what God put on my heart. See the @crownworkshop_africa to see the original vision for it in 2019 when I risked so much to move to Africa and make a dream happen. Thanks @iloveghana for highlighting this message. Thank you @thinkingmindsghana @dreamfactory_foundation @uscedu @dunkgrassroots_gh @villanovau and all of the other organizations and schools throughout The US (NYC/ LA), South Africa and Ghana that have benefited from and support my work. Testimonials and people reaching out to me with their stories keep me going when it’s gets difficult. And when I face my own inner storms.šŸ™šŸ¾(full transparency) More experiences to come in 2023. We’re launching monthly online wellness experiences focused on hair care, confidence, and self-care. I’m bringing together knowledge rooted in psychology, neuroscience, wellness, and nutrition to help you feel good from within and use your hair as an entry point into your wellness journey. This month’s theme for Women’s Month is In Bloom: When Women Are Wealth. I’ve been passionate about making women feel beautiful since I was 13, and I believe your hair is spiritual—it’s your identity, creativity, and self-reclamation. Join us to discuss crown care, confidence, wellness, and all your hair questions, because true hair care comes from both external care and internal wellness through nutrition and stress management. #WellnessExperience #HairCare #CrownCare #WomensMonth InBloom WomenAreWealth HairHealth Confidence WellnessJourney SelfCare HairConfidence NutritionAndWellness MentalWellness HairIdentity OnlineWellness
