The shop has the honor of running the Artist Lounge at @millvalemusic so we will be closed Friday and Saturday for normal business while we give the bands and artists performing at the festival a cool place to hang and to see some REALLY COOL LOCAL GEAR from @maskaudioelectronics@crotronicsdevices@jvalentino_guitars@rpseffects The lounge is located at 200 Lincoln Ave and is open to any band or artist who plays a set Friday or Saturday. PCB day, so lots of excited building. The first is not a harmonic trem, but a super fun combo of preamp and resonant filter idea I had currently living an old prototype enclosure because most of the controls lineup. Expect a final circuit down the road as this one still needs some tweaking. Secondly is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while; give folks the option of the original style of buffered bypass as well as a more modern relay based true bypass in the Peasants OD. It’s subtle but the jfet switching in the original does have an effect on the sound of the overdrive and while a good buffer is often a good thing to have in one’s signal chain there are circumstances where it is worth avoiding. #guitarpedals #statevariablefilter #buffers #madeinpittsburgh
Just wanted to say thanks, I’ve gotten lots of nice messages from folks who’ve gotten Peasants OD’s recently. A lot of work has gone into tweaking and revising this circuit through the past few years as well as tracking down and getting ahold of certain key discontinued components that go into them, but hearing how people have been reacting to them is pretty special. #guitarpedals #madeinpittsburgh

Peasants Overdrive batch update: enclosures are looking to be delivered tomorrow and circuits boards are as populated as they get without their enclosures. I’d expect the next batch to go live next week at @tgspgh Pictured is an old enclosure color test I’ve held onto with certain components socketed on the pcb for testing different things. Signal Chain = Electric Spanish 339 with P90 Neck Pickup and a P90 size Super Distortion Bridge Pickup - Lost Temper - Stereo Blend of UA Dream (Fender Style Amp Sim) & UA Lion (Marshal Style Amp Sim)
This demo was done entirely on the neck P90 pickup
After playing through different fuzzes over the years I discovered that many of them had roots in the same ancestor, the Helios Type 69 Preamp. This preamp spawned such incredible circuits as Roger Mayer’s Octavia & Axis Fuzz and even modern releases from Dunlop like the Band of Gypsies fuzz. My idea was to go back to make the gain circuit a bit more like the original preamp while also making sure it’s tailored to a guitar’s input. The end design can do anything from clean boosts (when you back off your guitar’s volume control) to heavy distortions and the switchable octave circuit is my nod to the Octavia though the octave section is quite different leading to pretty unique tones due to the fatness of the gain circuit at the heart of the pedal. #fuzz #octave #octavefuzz
