✨️ LUCIA'S JOURNEY ✨️
This sweet little kitten came to Crossroads earlier this year through a good samaritan who found her and was concerned about her eyes. If you swipe through the photos, you can see that her eyes were barely able to open and after a couple visits to the vet, we discovered she was born with coloboma. This is a condition that means some normal tissue is missing and for Lucia, that meant she was born without a portion of her eyelids. Lucia was able to receive reconstructive surgery to give her better vision and comfort for the rest of her life. One of the sweetest parts of her story was that during her first visit to the eye specialist - a vet tech fell in love, offered to foster, and then adopted her after her surgery.
We couldn't help cats like Lucia, now named Hallow, without help from our community! Whether it's monthly giving to support medical and care costs, stepping up to foster an animal in need, or simply stopping into one of our social enterprises - our community makes this healing possible. Zucchini is our boisterous bobtail boy! This handsome guy came in with a tail injury and we elected to amputate his tail, giving him the cutest bobtail ever! Zucchini is a very expressive boy, serving constant looks and even some tail wags when he's excited. He's playful and social with everyone he meets, always ready to give or receive affection. Zucchini is the epitome of a curious and confident cat. He loves to explore and problem-solve and chooses his own adventure everyday. If you're looking for a goofy guy who will give you energy and cuddles, Zucchini is the perfect boy for you!
