Kamila is back home, effectively closing my WTR adventure. I collected her from Rotterdam – thanks to Oli from Rannoch Adventure. After meeting some sponsors (Valor Cuisine and Van Beton), it was an 8.5-hour drive back to Switzerland. It’s funny how everything on board reminds me of something that happened on the ocean. It’s also nice to find things I just could not find when rowing. She is in an amazing condition considering she crossed the Atlantic. Even the hull is quite clean. I’ve now washed her down to get rid of the sale, and will do so a few more times to get her sparkling again. Clothes have also been washed and medicines sorted. All other stuff is out to get cleaned and sorted. . . . . #rowing #rowingchallenge #rowtraining #atlanticrowing #atlanticrow #atlanticocean #worldstoughestrow #wtr #wtr2025 #atlanticchallenge #solo #solorowing #ocean #lakerowing #Atlantic #oceanrowing In December 2025, I participated in the World’s Toughest Row race across the Atlantic as a solo, the first Maltese person to do so. @WorldsToughestRow @rannochadventure @oli_james1 Supporters @stadt.kreuzlingen @rckreuzlingen @corny_de @concept2.ch.at @alex.tromp @valorcuisine Supporting @margeritatheshow #fightloneliness

It’s a wrap. The WTR 2025 Award Ceremony saw the close of my rowing adventure. I collected my certificate together with most of the 2025 fleets, Atlantic and Pacific. I was also presented with a LCFC signed top by my good friend and fellow rower Alan, the same Alan I met in the middle of the Atlantic on Day 1 of 2026 (best day of my row). Amazing gesture that left me speechless. His daughter Natalie was instrumental in getting in touch with the club and getting it all sorted. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Now, I’m waiting for my boat Kamila to get back, the last piece of my rowing puzzle. I can’t wait to see her again. She took me safely across a sometimes unfriendly ocean. I owe her a good clean. What comes next is anyone’s guess. . . @WorldsToughestRow Supporters @stadt.kreuzlingen @rckreuzlingen @corny_de @concept2.ch.at @alex.tromp @valorcuisine @the_oldseedogs @worlds.toughest.row @lcfc Supporting @margeritatheshow #Fightloneliness

Heading to London for the World’s Toughest Row Award Night, the final chapter in my solo Atlantic rowing adventure. Your support along the way was greatly appreciated. Incidentally, today would have been my brother Mike’s 60th birthday. Wonder what he would have thought about all this… . . . @worlds.toughest.row @martinaeggenberger @desichetcuti @koenkerkhoff @dandn1971 @alex.tromp @corny_de @sandradespott @michael.chetcuti.90 . . . #rowing #oceanrowing #atlanticchallenge #solo #solorowing

It's amazing how many teams come from Canton #Aargau. One of them is United4Hope, a mixed Swiss-Norwegian team competiting in this year's World's Toughest Row. Was a blast meeting the team, and it was just a 15-minute drive from home. . . . . @united4hope.ch @worlds.toughest.row @vazlife @mnlwttstn @helland_eivind . . . #oceanrowing #atlanticchallenge #rowing #atlanticocean

I may have rowed the ocean solo but I was never really alone. My wife, mother, and sister were among my biggest supporters, especially in the last difficult days before rowing into English Harbour. I am especially grateful to them . . . #family #rowing #rowingchallenge #rowtraining #atlanticrowing #atlanticrow #atlanticocean #worldstoughestrow #wtr #wtr2025 #atlanticchallenge #solo #solorowing #ocean #lakerowing #Atlantic #oceanrowing Photos: World’s Toughest Row In December 2025, I participated in the World’s Toughest Row race across the Atlantic as a solo, the first Maltese person to do so. @WorldsToughestRow @sandradespott @desichetcuti Supporters @stadt.kreuzlingen @rckreuzlingen @corny_de @concept2.ch.at @alex.tromp @valorcuisine Supporting @margeritatheshow #fightloneliness

Before and after photos. This is what 54 days at sea does to you 😊Tough but great – very happy to have experienced the Atlantic as a solo. Now, a few days of rest and recovery before returning to work. Thanks for your continued support . . .
