before we get too far from the new year and too deep into fashion i wanted to share some of my favourite moments of tenderness and lightness and joy and nostalgia from the holiday season at home. there’s something special about the places we are lucky enough to call home in south africa and the way we celebrate the season in the sun. early sleepy morning swims in the river before you’ve sipped your coffee, christmas baubles on a palm tree, shared meals cooked on a fire eaten under the stars. united in the hunt for love and slowness and an escape from the tourist rush. sweaty christmas markets and midnight dips and the feeling of possibility. i love you and i love the people around us and i love using my camera for good things. 🤍
small fashion interlude for a lil personal work. i’ve been spending a lot of hours printing @rapideye.darkroom in the last year, chewing on and digesting and soothing my existentialism by printing photos i love of things and places i love. here is my fantastic 96 y/old gran, photographed this summer deep in her blissful dementia under the lemon tree, at her home of 70+ years in athens, and her bed in the fading light (very fitting).
I’ll share more on this family project when I get around to sharing the mounds of personal work - but for NOW this print can be SEEN at @rapideye.darkroom ’s end of summer exhibition ‘i loved printing that’ ❤️ (02/10, 6pm, photobook cafe leonard circus) most of the internet now knows about my mom and how much i miss her, and this project forms part of my ongoing relationship with that motherlessness i so often find myself in. spending time creating for the SOLE sake of creating is healing for the SOUL. i loved printing this, i loved tweaking the oranges till they were perfect, i loved asking chris what he thought (too many times!!) and i loved sharing with the printers next to me, i loved using my hands and counting the seconds till the print came out the machine, i loved showing these to my dad and i love that this is gonna be up on a wall soon 🤍🤍🤍🤍 i reccomend going to check out the show (and sending me pics if u do!!!) and i recommend booking a darkroom course with george ASAP, don’t hesitate just do it 🤍

à favourite scan from the month of january. I, like absolutely everyone else, am entirely enamoured by Matthieu and Chanel and this era of the house. There is something tangible here that I feel is lacking in other brands, and I am this could be entirely personal. I think it’s because (again, like for so many so of us) Chanel was the first point of connection to this Big Bad Beautiful Bold industry. It remains as colossal a concept as the first time I saw it, was exposed to it. I enter this space with my back up straight and my chin held high and the joy seeeeeping from my pores (again, as almost everyone is, or at least I imagine so!).
I spoke to the models, I looked at the clothes up close, I touched them (i’m sorry!!), we found our favourite mushroom top, we took a photo, and it feels like the start of something colossal. I’m so happy this scan exists 🤍 i love you!!

Here are some things I really enjoyed from the @matieresfecales show last year. For some reason these images pop up often in my memory at random times. I remember flowers and Hannah Adrian and FKA and Michele and that lady (I like the way Adrian and Michele’s body language is mirrored) and I see the Fantastic Always Fantastic Debra in the light with her long limbs. I remember the crowd outside - chatty and buzzing and eager but patient (rare) and I remember that it felt deeply sincere. I remember running out of film at the exact moment I got too hot to stay inside.
There are a lot of pictures of these kinds of moments and things that I like that I take ‘at work’ that don’t always fall into ‘work’ exactly and mostly they are my favourite kind to play with.
I’ll try to share more of these along with whatever rambles come stumbling out of me because they deserve to live somewhere :)

THANK YOU FOR A TOTALLY FUN WEIRD AND WILD AW26!!!! i love playing i love making art and popping hearts i love rock n roll 🤪🤘💘i kind of barely have any idea what just happened but we did it 2getherrr and im grateful to the people (editors PR’s production ppl every single person in this wild wild industry) those who trust me to work for them in these spaces fill me with honor and those who smile back at me make life worth living 🩷💓💖🩷💘 there was a lot of silliness this season (thank goodness!) a lot of images made and a LOT of film processed (finally). I am in a slight freeze of editing so will eventually share slowly but surely:) thank you for a crazy two months!! let’s finally start our 2026!! 🤪😂🫶🥰🥳💓💞
