Sending a HUGE congratulations to Bethany Loveridge @bethanyloveridgeauthor and Chris Kennett @crikeyboy on the launch of their outrageously fun, new picture book, Genie Snail!
It was a pleasure to create these vibrant fondant cookies for the launch in Melbourne on the weekend.
If you found a genie, what would you wish for?
This is the delightful situation presented to the child in this story. But while this seems like a fantastic decision to make, it turns out to be quite a conundrum! The rules state that what your wish for must rhyme with the genie you get! So what rhymes with ‘snail’?!
This narrative is cleverly written in dialogue, presenting like a graphic text. The expressive and colourful illustrations are mesmerising and filled with imagination!
This is such an entertaining book to read aloud and share with children. I can think of so many applications for this text in the classroom too, relating to rhyming words, poetry and brainstorming wishes that other animals could grant. So many possibilities!
