Coming this Sunday, EP9 with the main man Hal Jordan himself @yungstahiphop Yash Chandra, or musically known as Yungsta, is a rapper native to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, but since has made Delhi his base. Yungsta’s signature style blends raw, unfiltered lyricism with a forceful, incisive delivery that cuts straight to the core. Few artists can match his talent for transmitting his emotional state to listeners, evoking in them the same intensity of feeling he brings to the studio. His roots in Indian hip-hop run deep, coming from the same background of Insignia on Orkut in the early 2010s just as all the current prime rappers of Desi Hip-Hop. His formidable spirit to recognise the fluidity of life, allowing him to ebb and flow with the events of his life, taking it in full stride because thats where he truly believes the most learning is, is what puts him in the upper echelon of rap in India.

Kaytranada felt like the perfect little break to me coming from the ultra-saturated afrohouse wave in Delhi. The production was just right, not so much to the point of being gimmicky but not so conservative that the lights and confetti couldn’t bring out energy every time they pulled out those bad boys. Plus he is a f****ng icon in his own right. It wasn’t empty by any means but the room felt breathable in the best way possible No crazy tricks, it wasn’t hyped among the entire country like some of the rap shows, and I think thats the best part with such artists - the crowd gets filtered. People there actually knew his music and came for him instead of coming for the hype or for a story. Also the collectible card is just too fire - its a proper heavy metallic souvenir that makes me wanna make sure I never lose it. Good one district. Whatt’s up with GA being allowed into VIP though?
