The mighty T-Rex from Walking With Dinosaurs. Did you know that Walking With Dinosaurs was one of the highest-grossing touring shows of its era? Between 2007 and 2019 it played to over 10 million people in 2,630 performances across 250 cities. Not bad for a little (ok, BIG) show from Melbourne, Australia!

We don’t know what’s more mind-blowing about this video - the impossibly lifelike rampaging Tyrannosaurus or our former General Manager Tim’s turtleneck sweater! 😍 #creaturedesign #trex #walkingwithdinosaurs #stevejobs

Final testing of Nadder, from the How To Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular back in 2012. Notice how we're getting lots of nice, elastic 'bounce' through the neck, wings and tail. For us that's great, organic movement at very low cost. #httyd #creaturedesign

This is T-Rex from Walking with Dinosaurs - The Arena Spectacular, back in 2007, undergoing some final movement tests in our workshop before going out on the road. While the underlying technology has evolved over the years (these creatures were largely hydraulic, these days we use electric actuators), the principals we use to create lifelike movement in what are essentially giant mechanical machines hasn’t changed. We start with the performance and the guest experience, and we work backwards to the machine. It’s a design approach that has served us well and kept CTC at the top of the game for over two decades. #trex #creaturedesign

Getting under the skin of Lady Liberty is a fascinating experience. As she had to talk (rather than roar or bellow like most of our creations!) we carefully studied and modelled human anatomy to ensure her facial movements were natural and lifelike. We achieved this with 20 individual electric motors inside the skull, controlled remotely by two puppeteers.

Kong vs serpent is not your average co-star moment. Let’s just say… one of them definitely didn’t come to share the spotlight. 🦍🐍 #kingkong #creaturedesign

It’s hard to believe it’s been 12 years since the world tuned in to watch our incredible creations at the 22nd Winter Olympic Games. This was live, high-stakes, animatronic storytelling. Our Bear, Leopard and Hare performed flawlessly to an audience of around 3 billion people, who were glued to their TVs, as the Bear blew out the Olympic flame, shedding a tear in the process. What could possibly go wrong!

Celebrating the timeless grace of Lady Liberty on Broadway! 🗽✨ Lady Liberty made her first appearance in March 2015. Standing proud at nearly 10 meters tall, she enchanted audiences at Radio City Music Hall's 'New York Spring Spectacular.'
