⚡️Comment 304 for the full episode I believe this. I just don't live it. I have a hard time fully stepping away. I'm almost always running at some version of work mode, even when I'm technically away from the business. But the moments I have disconnected (a workout, a walk, a trip), something always clicks. Working on it. @samvanderwielen

If you know me, you know I LOVE the membership business model. But they are far from passive streams of income! A great membership is a labor of love. A great membership feels like its own living being—and, over time, I think you actually get a sense for its health at any point in time. You can feel when it’s healthy, when it’s strong, when it’s sick, when it’s hungry... Over the last few years, memberships have been a constant topic of conversation on the Creator Science Podcast. Some of my favorite conversations were with Ali Abdaal, Becky Pierson Davidson, Ryan Hawk, and Dan Andrews. If you’re building a membership, check these episodes out!

⚡️ Comment “294” for the full episode It’s never been easier to make functional software...so is building a SaaS the new move? I’m skeptical. So I talked to SaaS legend Rob Walling about it, and he gave me some good insight.

I’m a YouTuber with zero design skills. Thumbnails literally make or break videos—so I wanted to start learning what makes a great one. So I interviewed @dvdaltizer . He gave me a crash course in thumbnail design (for non-designers). Episode is live on YouTube now!

Most creators are ignoring the legal side of their business. This can be a disaster! Get ahead of it. Tyler shared a ton of practical steps for getting your legal bases covered. Comment POD for a link.

👉 Comment “pod” for a link to this episode! YouTube channels are assets. And according to attorney Tyler Chou, these assets are sometimes even more valuable than real estate! I spoke with Tyler about the legal side of YouTube. Mistakes she sees clients making and hopes YOU will fix (before it's too late). For example: • The myths about "Fair Use" (it's not as bulletproof as you think) • Why so many YouTube partnerships go down in flames • The risk of *not* having contracts with your editors It was eye-opening! I've since tightened up my own paperwork to be more proactive and avoid headaches down the line. Listen to the full conversation on the @creatorscience podcast or YouTube.

@patflynn changed his mind about short-form. What he used to believe was more akin to "Halloween candy" than a sit-down meal, he's now seen that his viral short-form videos from @deeppocketmonsterofficial has actually built relationships with people. I admit – I've had the same skeptical view of short-form video. But when you construct a series that brings the same viewers back over and over again, it makes sense that those returning viewers would build a similar relationship. What do you think?

Have you seen this man’s thumbs?? This is hilarious — but even better is how he took what may have gotten him down and leaned into it. Full interview with @patflynn exploring @deeppocketmonsterofficial on our YouTube channel.

This week on @creatorscience , I talked to @hash_tag_jeff about podcast growth (organic and paid strategies). Ever wonder how Spotify decides what episodes to promote through discovery? Now you know!
