Recently, we took a creative team (with our good pals at @moshimoshi.sw@andrewfrazerdesigns@troy_bennell and @shireofdardanup ) to Ferguson Valley to reignite visioning of a public art trail. Thanks to everyone in the community who came along #community #creativetechvillage #creativeindustries #storytelling
Congratulations to everyone involved in the opening night of Saltwater Busselton, the stunning new Gallery, Performing Arts and Conference Centre!
What a beautiful building and what a wonderful way to mark this milestone for our region. The evening began with a Welcome to Country, a meaningful acknowledgement of the Wadandi people on whose land this incredible venue stands, and a perfect way to open such a significant community space.
Arts and culture are so much more than just entertainment. They build connection, belonging, creativity and community pride, all of which are vital for mental health and wellbeing. Spaces like this bring people together, create opportunities for local artists and performers, and strengthen the social fabric of our region.
Investment in arts and community infrastructure also supports local jobs, tourism and economic growth, helping our communities thrive in every sense of the word.
If you haven't been in yet, head down and explore for yourself. And make sure you check out the inaugural exhibition at Saltwater Gallery, Two Girls from Amoonguna, an ACMI Touring Exhibition featuring the works of artists Sally M Nangala Mulda and Marlene Rubuntja, on until 21 June.
Looking forward to seeing Saltwater become a vibrant hub for creativity, events and connection for years to come!

Calling all bass players and drummers!
This hands-on masterclass is designed for rhythm section musicians who want to develop one of the most important skills in live and studio performance — learning how to truly play in the pocket.
The pocket is where groove, timing, feel, and intention lock together to elevate an entire band. It’s the difference between simply playing the notes… and making the music feel great.
👨🏼🎤 Featuring facilitators:
• Scott Pearce Music — professional musician and experienced educator
• Chris Panter — studio producer with a deep focus on rhythm, space, and sound
Throughout the session you’ll:
🎵 Explore grooves, beats, and tempos across multiple genres
🎵 Work on timing and groove chemistry with other musicians
🎵 Learn when to drive, support, or step back within a song
🎵 Develop stronger musical awareness through guided listening and playback exercises
A major focus of the session is understanding how the “spotlight” moves within a song — and how rhythm section players shape the entire feel of a performance through intention and space.
