Creative Mornings Venice

We are grateful to 𝗗𝗼𝗹𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗮 for fueling our morning with their delicious frollini. Born within the community of the 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘇𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗮, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮, DolCita is part of a wider network of social initiatives rooted in 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. In a neighborhood where doors are always open, the parish has long been a place of welcome for people experiencing hardship, migrants, and anyone seeking community. At the heart of this ecosystem is the Cita-Pollaio, a social project that offers small work opportunities and paths of dignity to people in vulnerable situations. Every week, the fresh eggs produced there become the key ingredient for DolCita’s handmade biscuits. Our March CreativeMornings will take place at @casa_michelotto_pastor a unique home in Venice that has long existed in dialogue with the city. Located inside Palazzo Zacco, the house was transformed between 1964 and 1965 by architects Valeriano Pastor and Michelina Michelotto, who envisioned it as 𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁. Over the years, the interiors were crafted with the help of highly skilled Venetian artisans, including workshops known for their collaborations with Carlo Scarpa. Today the house is cared for by the grandchildren, who have chosen to give this extraordinary space a new chapter as a 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 accessible for organized visits, a place to encounter music, food, creativity and exchange. What was once a private family home has become a space for gathering, sharing ideas and creating moments of community in Venice. What does it mean to be local? For March’s theme 𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗟, CreativeMornings Venice invites you to reflect on the meaning of returning, belonging and creating in the place you call home. On Tuesday 24 March from 9 to 10am, we’re gathering at @casa_michelotto_pastor for a talk with @studio_scari founded by Venetian siblings @lorenzo_pruneri and Anna Pruneri who chose to return to their city after years abroad to start something of their own. The event will also mark the official launch of Studio Scarì, celebrating the beginning of their independent creative journey. Through their story, we’ll explore what it means to 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. On Friday 27 February from 9 to 10am, we’re hosting a guided philosophical walk inspired by @pratiche_filosofiche_in_strada - a roaming dialogue format created by Eugeniu Pinzaru and co-led by Edoardo Pezzato with artist Noa Pane.
