What if the deepest creative act is how you live?
Not just the work you make, but how you move through the world. How you steward your energy. How you choose what matters. On purpose.
I explore what it means to be a complete creative in my latest article in Substack.

Pause.
What happens right before you talk yourself out of it?
You were ready a second ago.
You had the idea.
You were about to send the email.
You were hovering over “post.”
You were this close to saying yes.
And then your brain goes:
“Wait. Who do you think you are?”
“Maybe slow down.”
“Maybe you’re not actually at that level.”
That’s the moment people label as imposter syndrome.
But look at what’s actually happening.
You stepped toward something that stretches you.
And instead of reading that stretch as growth, you made it mean something about who you are.
Not because you can’t do it.
Because you misread the signal.
Imposter syndrome isn’t identity. It’s a moment that you haven’t understood yet.
I’m teaching a free workshop TOMORR on Feb 12 at 2pm CST called The Imposter Syndrome Fix.
We’re working with that exact split second — the one where you start negotiating with yourself — and changing what happens next.
If you’ve been slowing yourself down in subtle ways, come.
Details in bio.
I don’t typically get on board with hype and fads. But, there was something interesting to me about asking AI to make a caricature of me. And, it’s probably not what you think.⬇️
I have some observations:
1. it’s almost scary how much it knows me. It knew the kind of vibe I wanted. And, instead of creating an image right away, it even told me what it was thinking and asked if it was right. It was (for the most part).
2. I asked it about me and my work. It’s pretty accurate. I’m a photographer, mentor, and life coach to creative pros. It’s kind of hard to put life coaching into an image but this is a good representation.
I use Gene keys and Human Design with my clients if they’re interested because they offer another level of understanding yourself. We get spiritual on different levels.
I have a framework that I implement with my clients called the Creative Compass that helps him learn how to steer themselves in a direction that feels right for them. And, do it well.
I spend a good amount of time reading and journaling. It’s imperative to my work. It’s life-changing.for myself and my clients.
And here’s THE THING that stood out the most - my life is so much more than this!
It didn’t depict my kids, my husband, my friends, my important relationships.
It didn’t show how much money I make, what kind of car I drive, the next adventure I’m planning.
It doesn’t see the challenges, the joys, the good stuff that makes up my full life.
And, it will never be able to show the relationship I have with me. My internal dialogue. My conversations with God.
So, yes, AI is an interesting business tool and creating this image was a fun game.
But, there’s more to us than business.
There’s more to life than the creative work we are passionate about.
I am SUPER INTERESTED in living a full life with those things not FOR those things.
If you are super interested in this too, and your full life doesn’t feel as satisfying or as full as you think it could, let’s talk about changing that.
Message me to having a conversation about working together 1:1.
I used to be afraid of trying new things.
Somewhere along the way, I convinced myself I’d probably fail or look dumb… so why even try?
Eventually, I decided to do it anyway.
And that’s when I noticed something surprising.
The hardest part wasn’t the new thing.
It was the way I talked to myself while doing it.
The negative self-talk took over, and suddenly the experience felt heavy, stressful, and not fun.
That wasn’t the experience I wanted.
So I changed the goal.
Now, I try new things on purpose so I can practice cheering myself on.
“Look at you go.”
“You’re doing amazing.”
“You’re getting the hang of it.”
I’m not trying to win anymore.
I’m practicing being on my own side.
✨ Pro tip: try new things with people who are encouraging, supportive, and genuinely cheer you on too.
If you’re ready to change the inner experience you’re having while doing the things that matter to you, this is the work I do with my clients.
We don’t just change what you do. We change how it feels to do it.
Send me a message and we’ll talk about creating a kinder, lighter way forward together.

Recently, I read the book Outsmarting Reality, and one line jumped out at me:
“See everything you experience as a win and only a win.”
I’ve known the idea that everything is for me for a long time.
I’ve remembered it casually.
Practiced it inconsistently.
But reading that line hit hard and deep.
It felt like an invitation to stop playing with the belief…
and actually live it.
So I’ve been leaning into it. Intentionally. Daily.
And it’s changing my life in quiet but profound ways.
I’m happier.
More grounded.
More trusting that the universe actually has my back.
I recover faster when things don’t go as planned.
I stay optimistic in moments where I used to spiral.
And that feels like a much more fun way to live.
When I assume everything is a win, my inner dialogue feels better.
My energy stays cleaner.
My nervous system doesn’t shut down so hard.
So here’s an invitation to try this belief on for size:
If everything is a win, how might these moments be working for you?
• A client didn’t re-sign.
Maybe it created space for a more aligned client… or space you didn’t know you needed.
• A launch didn’t land the way you hoped.
Maybe it showed you exactly where your message wants to deepen.
• You’re feeling resistance or exhaustion.
Maybe your body is asking for a new rhythm and not more discipline.
This isn’t about pretending things don’t hurt.
It’s about choosing a lens that gives you more agency, awareness, and self-trust.
And when you change the lens, the experience often changes with it.
If you want support reshaping the beliefs that shape how you experience your life and business, I’d love to work with you 1:1.
We focus on creating intentional internal shifts that lead to sustainable external change.
Tell me in the comments:
What’s something in your life right now that might actually be a win in disguise?
The first conversation I have with every potential client is never about selling - it’s about clarity.
Before we talk strategy, timelines, or next actions,
we pause to see what’s actually happening undervthe surface.
In a Clarity Call, we work together to:
– clarify what’s actually creating friction
– identify where your energy is going
– decide what direction actually makes sense right now
Because clarity is the root of any meaningful change.
Without it, you end up trying to fix symptoms, second-guessing decisions, or pushing in directions that don’t really fit.
With clarity, momentum starts to organize on its own.
Next steps become obvious instead of forced. More effortless.
That’s why this call is always our first conversation.
It’s the beginning of the work.
If you’re ready for a fresh start,
message me to schedule a Clarity Call.
Hey y'all! I just released episode 23 of my podcast, The Complete Creative!
It's a live coaching conversation with Laura Fox-Wallis @rootedexpressionsstudio and Mel Lau @smallnoddesign . They brought honest questions about fear, clarity, and self-trust. Many thanks to their courage and vulnerability!
As an FYI - group coaching offers something special: you’re not just reflecting on their challenges, you’re seeing yourself reflected back. I hope you’ll find your own takeaways in the conversation.

Most creative pros don’t feel stuck because they’re unclear or unmotivated.
They feel stuck because they’re trying to sustain growth without support underneath it.
When success grows faster than alignment,
momentum starts to feel fragile.
Everything works… but only if you keep the Jenga game going.
Through my Creative Compass framework I help creative professionals rebuild momentum that feels solid.
Not by doing more.
But by aligning direction, identity, energy, and rhythm
so progress stops depending on force.
This is NOT about slowing everything down.
It’s about creating support under what you’re already creating so it start working FOR you again.
If you’re ready for a clean starting point forward,
a Clarity Call is your next step.
Message me if you’re ready to make your business AND your life work together and feel great.
If confidence isn’t something you need to go find,
then the work isn’t building it.
It’s noticing where you’ve been holding yourself back.
The email you keep rewriting instead of sending.
The idea you keep refining instead of sharing.
The decision you already know the answer to but keep postponing.
You’re not underconfident. You’re overthinking your next move.
So here’s the check-in:
What’s one thing you’d do today if you stopped waiting to feel ready?
Send it.
Say it.
Choose it.
If you want support identifying that next step and following through we should talk. Message me and I’ll send you a link to schedule your breakthrough call.

Imposter syndrome isn’t who you are.
It’s a moment.
And moments don’t need to be fixed or analyzed.
When the thought shows up, try this:
Just say, “I’m having an imposter moment.”
It’s a moment you’re experiencing, not a truth about who you are.
From there, you acknowledge it, let the moment pass and then keep going.
That’s how it stops derailing you.
If you want help getting faster at this, let’s chat in an Imposter Syndrome Breakthrough Call.
45 minutes to update the inner script that keeps pulling you off track and anchor you back into the voice you create best from.
